The site where we get the picks showed Washington State as a 13-point favorite over Arizona in Thursday's game; however, later lines showed Washington State as only a 2 or 3 point favorite.
There was only one pick for Arizona (+13) and I didn't hear until after 5PM (when we close the thread) about the discrepancy between the line that was first published and the "actual" line. In the past, when I've found out about discrepancies like this, I've asked anyone who chose the game(s) in question to re-select or, if they don't, we've treated them like pushes. However, since I didn't find out about it until late this afternoon, I didn't have any time to alert the person who'd picked Arizona that the line was in dispute. Thus, I didn't think it would have been fair to set the pick aside as there wasn't enough time for the pick to be recast.
As it turns out, Washington State won by 16 so it there was no unfair advantage.
BTW, when there is a large number of picks and/or when I'm rushed for time, it's impossible to "reality-test" all the picks. For now, I'm going to stay with the current site, but if this is a recurring problem, I'll look for another source. (I'll admit that I'm happy with one thing with this site: it's the easiest to reformat for posting to G'hole.)
Please submit your picks by 5PM.
Rules can be found here. Sorry, but we're not taking new participants -- maybe next year.
