@HTC247: QB Philip Nelson, who was involved in a major off-the-field controversy last January, has joined #ECU http://t.co/3hogUDUx2s

I hope it goes well for him. I think he's a good kid whose dad was way too involved in his life. Hopefully his father has learned a lesson as well.

Just lost all respect for ECU by letting this scum of a human walk on.

I wish him luck.
Nice part of the country as well....

Anybody know anything about the QB situation at ECU?

Quick check of the roster shows 7 QB's: 3 FR, 1 SO, and 3 JR (including Nelson). Based on last year's stats, the SO, Kurt Benkert, is the only one who saw any PT last year. So, If Nelson shows something (a big IF considering his time away from the game), I suppose he's got a chance to move up the depth chart.

He really fits the system well. A buddy of mine follows them pretty closely (played WR for them a while ago) and is excited about the proposition of him playing.

He should do well there... unless, of course, someone hits on his girlfriend. Oh boy, if that happens.

Does anyone else think that he should focus on getting a degree and thank God that he is not in prison?

He should be thankful that he isn't in more trouble than he was. I don't see why he can't still play football and go to school if somebody is going to be willing to give him a shot. Im just glad that circus left town and he was off the team before his incident happened.

I agree 100% it's time to move on.
