Phil Miller blog: Gophers routed -- but not as bad as usual

Honestly, Nebraska used most of the 3rd quarter and the 4th to try out some plays and help prepare them for next week. They did not need to change the way they were going, they were practicing their weak passing game in order to work on it a little.

Exactly. This was just as bad as the previous 2 games. Nebraska could have won by 60 if they wanted. They used the 2nd half to practice some stuff. They weren't into running up the score. The final score isn't indicative of how badly the Gophers were outplayed when Nebraska cared.

Wow, 34-0 at halftime and entire second units (not just a few backups) playing the entire 4th quarter and it's "not as bad as usual"? Pewterschmidt was right on, this was every bit as bad as 6 of the 7 games the Gophers have played.
