Perra before burning Crofts shirt

All these theories. So tell me this: why is Steveler listed as the backup QB on the 2 deeps and not Perra? Are the 2 deeps just posturing and political correctness? I thought you guys said Kill doesn't play those games. It baffles me that if Perra is the next man up why is his name not even listed? Secret weapon? Or just so Streveler won't cry? Please explain.

To be fair, Kill played some serious games when he said that we were abandoning the no-huddle a week before the TCU game.

I don't remember him ever doing anything else like that, though.

I think that Mitch is the QB until injury or graduation

my problem is we need a #2 and Streveler is not a confidence booster.

Perra is a unproven QB that was not really recruited by anyone (maybe they just didnt make as much effort to come see him)

Croft is unproven and Poljan is right behind waiting until next year

We need a #2 that can get some experience in a game so that if it happens and a injury happens we do not skip a beat.

my issue is that I can almost bet that tomorrow morning we start slow and we end up only being up a TD or 10 points and Mitch plays the whole game.

i want a blow out and anything less is a failure to this team

Illinois beat this team badly and anything less than a 40+ win is cause for concern

PERIOD

Croft is a twig. He needs a redshirt year just to get ready to be hit by Big Ten lineman.

It depends on what the coaching staff has as an objective. If they want to prepare a backup in case of an injury that finds Mitch out for a while, then, probably you save the redshirt. If they have concluded Mitch is unable to get us where we need to be, then you decide if Croft is that man and you burn the redshirt. Finally how they perceive Poljan. If they really think this is our first real star QB coming in, then there is not a reason to save the redshirt and in fact a good reason to burn it. All depends on what Kill & Co think in their hearts about Mitch, Demry and Tony. Will be interesting.

If he gets in, will people finally accept that he, not CS5, is our back-up even tho the "depth chart" lists Chris?

My line wasn't meant as a rip on Streveler. To me he should be the backup. I was mostly saying that most college athletes have impressive high school highlight reels. I would also like to see Streveler get a chance to go in and run the "normal" offense with throws mixed in.

Don't worry, I wasn't implying that that's what you meant. I was just trying to point out how we've all assumed Streveler is aweful as a passer, but truthfully he hasn't even had any chance to prove that right or wrong. I want, like you, for whoever is the #2 QB to get a real chance and not just be a body double and have him do nothing but run.

Croft takes all snaps with #2 Offense in warm ups. Just like last week. Dude is #2. No more debate.
