Perich a pre season All-American via ESPN

Seems like he’d need to play a lot better than he did this season…
Seems like recruiting rankings aren't the only thing impacted by the school jersey.

I'm confident Koi will be just fine for the Ducks. I'm also confident we're going to be just fine at Safety moving forward with our returning guys...and hopefully have an extra $1M to spend strategically elsewhere.

It'd be hilarious if incoming freshman talent beat him out and he didn't even start. Doubt that's ever happened to an all-american before.
I mean I would bet there are tons of pre-season All American's that didn't finish anywhere close to getting the actual post season honor that truly counts.

Unfortunately for us there is a very good chance that Perich will do really well there but Slim Tubby nailed it in his post above.

Yeah, I was more getting at that he might not start. Lots of players don't live up to the preseason hype, but at least they're on the field.

I would be very surprised to see him not end up starting there. He is a really talented athlete and will be entering his Junior year of college.

That said, a place like Oregon does load up on high quality athletes on a yearly basis so he will have to preform to keep his spot and he won't get any "hometown hero" treatment there is he doesn't do well on the field.

Other than hoping he doesn't get hurt, which I wish for every football player on every team - He is dead to me now and I am already annoyed at every thread that will start up here every time he intercepts a pass, gets mentioned in an article, etc. Just seeing this thread and then making it worse for me by opening it and commenting is an example so going forward I will attempt to do a better job at resisting commenting or caring about him, just like any other ex-Gophers that transferred out. He doesn't need my attention, of course.
