Oh Daniel, I am actually just stating the obvious that the odds are not good to keep a commitment from a kid who has never seen the school, regardless of the school. Add in the fact that the kid is a big Miami fan as well. I prefer to wait until a little closer to signing day and after he has taken his officials to get to excited. If he states that he will only take an official to Minnesota then that would be a positive sign.
Hmm, funny...I could swear that we didn't see this type of admonishment from you when we received a commit earlier last week from a different Florida recruit who has never seen the school. Let me check....
(checking Ballesteros thread)
Nope. Nothing there from you.
Now what could be the difference between these two Florida commits, neither of whom have ever seen the school?
They both play defense, so that can't be it.
They are both from Miami, so that can't be it either.
Man, what is the difference? It's right there in front of me. I just can't put my finger on it...
Or maybe some of us actually have to work and cannot spend all day every day on a message board responding to every thread. By the way have you got your layoff notice yet from the state since you clearly are a non essential university employee spending all day on a message board on the unversity's dime.
I'm not sure how many times we need to see this exact same thing take place before people can acknowledge these sort of commits are 50/50 at best. I'm happy with defensive players and I'm happy with kids comitting early. Commiting to a team half way across the country without visiting the campus does raise some red flags though. Hope he sticks, but no use counting this chicken for quite awhile yet.
I hope so 50. It was musical chairs at times during the Brewster era.
This raises a question regarding Coach Kills recruiting approach. Does he have a set policy similar to what Ferentz did by pulling an offer if a verbal visits other schools?
I think Brewster allowed it with maybe an exception or two. I know Mason did.
From MOC on Gopherillustrated:
New Gopher linebacker coach Bill Miller came to Minnesota with a reputation of being a great coach, but he is proving to be a top-notch recruiter as well. He has already landed two south Florida commitments for the Gophers and could be close to another with versatile defender [db]Barrington Morris[/db] of Piper
No connection to Moss. Didn't want to start a new thread since this one is already about Gopher recruits. I'm pretty sure he'd be a recruit for this fall.

2011 Recruit signed with Blinn College
In case any of you didn't know (or don't have Google), Blinn College happens to be the junior college where Cam Newton started his college career.
