Quote at the end was great...something like...
"If you're losing to Minnesota at home then you've got bigger problems on your hands..."
Great opportunity whether whited-out or not. Must see TV...
"except 2013 against Michigan"I hate when stats are thrown out like he did when he said "Penn St. has held every opponent below their seasonal scoring average during white out games, except 2013 against Michigan." I would guess that Penn St. holds their opponents below their seasonal scoring average in a vast majority of their home games, white out or not. Don't you think that Penn St. is probably better than the average opponent of other Big 10 teams when you include non-conference opponents?
If it's such a crazy good advantage, why does the graphic near the end show that they are only 6-5 in white out games? I don't doubt that it's a fun atmosphere and fans love it but I question his assertation that it's a lethal weapon.
Because its bogus stat-mining. In the earlier PSU whiteout thread, the only proof the writer could come up with is that the referees are more intimidated that the opponents. Then argued differently. Yeah some people get really excited about wearing matching shirts."A spectacle unlike anything you will see in college football"
Oy.
This is right up there with fireworks - pretty cool for many; just "meh" for me.
I wish my mom had done something like this.by the way, "whiteout" - also known as 'liquid paper' - was invented by Betty Nesmith Graham.
She is the mother of Mike Nesmith - best known as a member of the Monkees.
(but he also wrote the song "Different Drum" for Linda Ronstadt)
as a result of his mother's invention, Mike Nesmith inherited a very healthy sum of money. Betty started her own company to market liquid paper. She later sold the company for $48-million.
How can they call it a White out ? Sounds really racist to me.
Checking their Wiki, they did play lots of highly ranked teams to their credit.Penn state 9-8 in whiteouts
Should we just update it now to 9-9?Penn state 9-8 in whiteouts
Well I once put liquid paper on a bee… and it died.by the way, "whiteout" - also known as 'liquid paper' - was invented by Betty Nesmith Graham.

It's really not fair to blue.Honestly, because of today's culture, I came here looking at "whiteout dilemma" and expecting to see there are groups at PSU demanding it be canceled due to non-inclusivity....or something. sheesh
you probably shouldn’t post this if you haven’t been to one in person. just saying."A spectacle unlike anything you will see in college football"
