Penn State upsets Michigan

1. If something can't go on forever, it won't. Even a bad team in the B1G won't lose indefinitely. I'd rather have Michy absorb the certainty of PS's eventual victory than us.

2. In this league this year it seems like most wins require talent, effort, luck and emotion. I think working up the emotion (spirit if you prefer) requires a fair bit of energy. Which will be difficult to repeat so quickly.

#1:You could argue the exact same things against Minnesota if you truly believed this... "We were bound to get out of our funk at one point and now we are going to lay down against an inferior team."

#2: is a direct contradiction to #1.... You're saying that it requires talent/effort... well PSU for the first time exhibited a fair amount of both..... And the arguement that it requires a fair bit of energy to conjure up emotion/spirit.... Is real life a videogame????

There are sooo many flaws in this argument I would need a #1alpha type post to illustrate it all.

You cannot tell me with all seriousness that if you were given the option of 1 million possible outcomes of the PSU - Michigan game, that you would choose PSU to win. And if you can tell me that... I do not respect your opinion and will ignore it.

because I'm bullheaded.....

and always right.....

and smarter than you......

Yes, saying go back to your mothers basement and calling me an @sshole are the same thing?!?! I did not know your mother died, and quite frankly the way you treat me on here, I could care less! Go away dude!
If you could care less, then why don't you?

Still a gopher fan, but yes my Bucky side does show (first post in this thread). But I will be Cheering just as hard for the Gophers in the B10 tournament and in the NCAA's just like I will be for Bucky. Guess you can not have two teams you enjoy to root for?!?!

I can't even begin to understand this...

But reading the rest of your crap I guess I don't care to understand. Please leave the GOPHER FAN board, troll.

Guess you can not have two teams you enjoy to root for?!?!

Sure you can, but cheering for both sides of a heated rivalry is stupid, lame, and a cop-out. You see lots of posters called RedSoxYankee? How about CowboyRedskin? Cheering for multiple teams from different parts of the country, different conferences, different playing levels, and so on, is normal, healthy, and encouraged. Cheering for two direct competitors in the same conference in the same level is...well, it's already been said.

I don't understand how anyone thinks PSU winning is a bad thing. I think it helps us. Here are my reasons we are gonna blow out Penn State.

-They have been fighting really hard for the past few games and coming really close. They would have brought that fire to the barn. They probably will still be fired up, but that need for a win will be gone.
-It's senior night and they will be fired up and we saw what happens when the seniors come out swinging against Indiana
-The barn will be full, rocking and flying high off the last win. The atmosphere should kill most of whatever fire Penn State has.
-We ARE an overall better team.

It could work that way, but there are no guarantees that it will. Exhibit A: The 1972-73 Gophers were looking to repeat as Big 10 champions. They were sitting at 10-2, ranked third or fourth in the nation, and had only to win out against two bottom-half Big 10 opponents. They had their senior night against a just-OK Iowa team and were honoring probably the most talented senior class in school history: Jim Brewer, Clyde Turner, Ron Behagen, Bobby Nix, Dave Winfield, and Corky Taylor. The Barn was never fuller and never rocked harder than in the Musselman era. So they lost by two to the Hawkeyes and compounded their problems by going to Northwestern and losing by five to the last-place Wildcats who had previously won only one conference game. That probably hurt worse than losing a bunch of games in the middle of the season.
