On sale now - great deal!! Just picked up 4 in Section 245

Am I the only one that is wondering why they are running this special this early? It's a week and a half away, and our team has been winning.

I can see them selling last minute seats to fill the Bank, but now?

Now, but if history holds you're the one that it bothers the most. ;)

10 point dogs on Saturday so chances are we lose. Selling tickets now while the stock is still high!

Can't be sure what this weekend will bring, so they are capitalizing on the high right now.

It's the expected response to having a huge volume of inventory. The PSU game was not tied to the Nebraska/Iowa/Wisconsin games during the sale of two-game packs, like the nonconference games, so 1,000's of seats are available in the upper level. Lots of preferred seating is still available too. Half the seats in sections 210 & 211 are unsold.

That's just the thing. PSU will not travel well and probably returning large numbers of their allotted tickets, hence making discount tickets available back here.

Shocking, a GH poster able to answer a question with a logical response instead of a snotty remark. Thank you.

And Iceland and Twinsfan, trust me, it bothers a lot of people a lot more than me, but I figure you don't care about all the people looking to drop their season tickets next year (my texts and emails blew up after this deal was announced). I actually do, but I know a thing or two about marketing and how to keep your season ticket holder happy.

Oh, and for all of you that want free Gopher bball tickets for the Lehigh game - here's the link. Apparently, if you get them, you actually get a $10 offer for PSU tickets --> https://www.mygophersports.com/Onli...le::promocode_access_code_url=STHAppreciation

Trust me, Minnesotans whining and complaining isn't something new nor is you complaining about offers that don't go to you first.

It's annoying, but I look at the cost I paid for my season tickets as a donation to the program/university anyway. I get GopherLady's point completely, but I'm not letting myself worry about it.

O my Lord, do we really have to have this discussion every time they try to fill the stands? This won't be the last time.

Season ticket holder. Glad they are doing it. I did get two free tickets for the Lehigh game. Full(er) stadium or arena makes for a better atmosphere and experience. Winning solves the problem in the long term.

Not sure where your reading comprehension was...when did I complain (other than about you?). I asked a QUESTION. I don't get what your issue is with me, but I'm better off not replying to you in the future.

Speaking of "reading comprehension"..

You didn't complain, you said the people that people were texting and e-mailing you complaining thus:"Trust me, Minnesotans whining and complaining isn't something new"

Then, in my opinion, there isn't enough being done to make the season ticket holders feel more special and exclusive. The problem lies there and not so much in these specials.

I've worked in minor league baseball for some time now. We have special nights where tickets are extremely cheep, and even have a few nights where it is free. For some season ticket holders, that can kinda piss them off because all of a sudden committing to a whole season like they do isn't as big of a deal anymore.

That is why we always give them advantages. If you're a season ticket holder you get a different gift each season. It's nothing major: umbrella, t-shirt, coffee mug, etc. but just the fact that we do it makes them feel appreciated. We also hold several events throughout the year including one evening after the season in which they can have batting practice on the field. They're the only ones who get to do it. Kinda a special thanks after the season. We do other small advantages things like discounts on division championship t-shirts, etc.

That's where it seems they're missing the boat here. I don't blame them for wanting to sell tickets and fill up the stadium. If the ST holders feel appreciated enough, it won't matter what kind of discounts you give out. Just my opinion.

GII, completely agree. Have no problem with selling discounted single game tickets, but for season ticket holders, they need to make it more of an advantage / experience.

Basically, make it impossible to say "I can get single game tickets for $30 each so I won't pay over $210 for a season ticket" since the season ticket will carry other advantages

True. I miss the hard copy Media Guide that they use to give out. The yearly T-Shirt, coupons for hot dogs and drinks etc. A price break for an outstate lodge, a discount at the bookstore (not on sale merchandise of course) or a drop-in telling us about the availability of game day suites? Not so much.

Just get irritated though at the process were every time the U tries ticket offers and, god forbid, don't offer them first to Season Ticket holders, the immediate outrage it generates. The U might be part of this problem because sometimes they DO offer them first and sometimes they don't.

Oh, and apparently the people most offended don't have much of a sense of humor about it either.

I don't doubt that some people tweeted and texted GopherLady about dropping their season tickets but I'll believe it when I see it. Many claimed there would be a massive revolt against the Gopher hockey reseating program and nobody would buy the high donation seats. Well, those were the first seats that went and while they don't have a full house every night these days, they're usually pretty close.

It kind of sucks, but it is what it is. I'm fully aware that I could go to every game for about half of what I pay now. However, by doing that, I'd miss out on the peace of mind I get knowing that I won't have to deal with some curmudgeon or drunk loudmouthed punk on a week to week basis. Our seats aren't the best, but we'll never move as long as the groups in the two rows in front of us stay put as well. We've all been in the same place since the Bank opened and we've had a lot of fun and frustration over the past 4 seasons. It's worth the extra money for me.

I actually got 2 for $10 each. Was signing up for free tickets to the Bball game against Lehigh, and a pop up came up with the offer for tickets for $10. Sec 234 row 18.

I agree with GophersinIowa. I'm a season ticket holder as well and these type of promotions without doing anything extra for the people who buy tickets year in and year out is kinda a crummy deal.

Yes, the irony is not lost of me of getting free b-ball tickets while commenting on cheap football tickets.

I agree, but like someone else stated, sell now while we have momentum. I am sometimes bothered by all the cheap ticket prices that non-season ticket holders get, but the way I look at it is that I have seats that I want guaranteed and if we turn it around and it is the hottest ticket in town, then I won't lose those seats. I think they could offer something extra for season ticket holders though to lessen the blow. Even something as simple as a T-Shirt or limited edition poster.

How did you get free Lehigh tickets?
