Hopefully all the Negative Nellies and Boo Babies should be satisfied after this weekend's shake-up. I for one was not happy with the results on the field and agreed with the decision to let Brewster go.

We sit back 15 rows behind the bench. It was almost unbearable to listen to all those folks in our area that thought Brewster could hear them. So they would scream and yell at him the whole game. Then they even got their 12 year old kids doing it (great example). So now, maybe we can watch a game, win or lose, in peace.

I'm in row 24 of section 243 and we have people behind us yelling stuff thinking Brewster can hear them too. It really ruins the game having to listen to people's stupid comments.

I am hoping for and expect a different, positive vibe this weekend. I don't know if the results will be any different but my hope is that the booing will stop and the fans will rally around the team. We'll see.

GH'ers Rah Brigade

According to the poll in another thread the vast majority of GopherHolers think this was the right move at the right time. I'm with that group.

Now that it is done we need to make the best out of the season that remains. We do have a few kids left on the team who've been here for the 4 or even 5 year ride (Adam Weber for example).

It's not their fault on who was the HC for UM...Maturi has taken that blame...but they have stuck through a "rebuilding" that has not yet produced results.

I do believe that football success does result from the team's effort to strive for excellence in every facet of the game from the top to the bottom of the organization.

Because the system does measure success in "wins accrued" and failure through "losses incurred," Coach Brewster has paid the appropriate price.

GopherHolers of all people should be ready to support this team Saturday. It should start at the Victory March and be exhibited vocally during the game, especially when the team hits the field (start and 3rd quarter) and during every rendition of The Rouser.

Folks in 212 already know that I add a very loud "rah" at the end of each Rouser. I challenge other GH'ers to do the same. It's funny how that act is appreciated by the fans around you.

Have some fun. Join the GopherHole "Rah Brigade" for the next 3 games.

Go Gophers! Beat the Lions!

My hope

I hope that fans will rally around our team and show the a lot of support in the remaining games win or lose.

I read awhile back on this forum that in a situation like ours, when there is an interim coach, the players may actually feel less pressure. Will that translate to better play, who knows?

Does anyone think this to be the case? The pressure of trying to save your coaches job may result in poorer play? Now that is lifted, could we play better?

Gopher Football

Yeah i sit on the 20 yard line lower level 28 rows up on the left side of the field from looking into the open end of the stadium. Anyway i would here ppl behind in about the first row of the upper deck right above us with ppl yelling "FIRE BREWSTER". Now i wont here that. Now if the gophers make some good plays or even win the game i might now here up there "HIRE HORTON".

Could we at least get a "Fire Maturi" chant going on Saturday??

Right now is the most important time this year to support this team. There may be players that are considering transferring. Show them we care, that we will continue to support them no matter who the coach is. Hopefully they will respond with some good football, and maybe even a win or two.
