Penn State 2:30pm CBS

I'm glad it's not same time as Indiana-OSU so I can comfortably watch both.

Dad's an IU alum and this is his big year and he's visiting for the games as long as the 2nd significant November hurricane in the USA in over 170 years doesn't visit instead. Big if.

Any theme you guys heard of yet for this game?

Maroon Out
Gold Out

Does anyone know if CBS does any special pre-game stuff at the stadium like Fox does? Was wondering if there's anything worth getting there early for outside of normal tailgating activities.

By late November, I'm going with whatever makes me comfortable while still being Gopher gear.

Hopefully, flannel weather.

They announce themes at the start of the year.... I don't think we've ever tired announcing one 2 weeks out.

No theme for this game.

Still way better than an 11 AM kick
By November I would would actually prefer 11am, but all good.

My long stated opinion for preferred kick-off times for me personally:

Sept - Prime time (6pm or later)
Oct until Daylight Savings ends - Mid Afternoon (2:30 - 3pm window)
Nov - Early window (11am)

VERY happy with the 2:30 start. Gives a little more time for the crowd to amp up however as I recall the 2019 game vs PSU was an 11 AM start and TCF was rockin'.

Time to channel October in November for this one. Ski U Mah!

The victory over Wisky was a 2:30pm start, I believe. Also in November. That worked well.

Other than the Sun Bowl Games against Oregon, anyone have any recollection as to the last time the Minnesota Gophers football team was on CBS for a regular season football game?

1985 vs Ohio St?

I love the multi network tv slate the way they do it now. I will say the “big noon” Fox thing falls a bit flat. I wish they’d trade a night game for the 11:00 am kickoff.

Penn State is in full rebellion mode over “big noon”. They absolutely hate it. You might have heard them chanting “big noon sucks” when they hosted the FOX crew for their noon OSU game.

Indiana/OSU should be a later game so the suspense can build under the lights.

The Big 10 is already taking up Fox Prime Time real estate on Fridays.

Night games for the majority of the Big 10 footprint, are less than ideal after Daylight Savings time is done.

I’m an old man but give me an 11am kickoff or a night game

Middle of the day costs you the whole day
I'm not old, but have already teed off on the Back 9 so to speak (unless I can make it to 111 years old). I'm with ya on the 2:30 starts taking up the entire day.

The full day experience is more enjoyable when the temperature is more than my age.

You can do the math.

Tell that to Penn State and Ohio State, both of which have fan bases ready to form picket lines around FOX and are already heckling the big noon crew when they are on campus.

I think the Buckeyes are just fine playing the Wolverines at Noon at least.

Way too early forecast says 40 degrees for the high. Could be worse.

I guess you could count the WCCO Radio era, which I learned ended a while ago, since I moved away from the Twin Cities.

But yeah, I think this is the first time on CBS TV since then.

The fans wanted it to be the "Whiteout" game.

My favorite game times are 7:00 (or 6:00/7:30, etc) followed by 11:00, and then 2:30. Wish the networks would mix in a late afternoon game around 4:00.
