Penn St to remove names from jerseys

They only added the names in 2012. Isn't there a Gophers jersey with MINNESOTA on the back?

Yes, the gold jersey had Minnesota on the back. Wish they would change that to player names or just blank, the team name seems like a pee-wee team thing.
 

I prefer names on the back... especially that now there are often jersey numbers doubled up among players.
 

This just another example of Penn State acting precious regarding their traditions. Ever since I was a kid I thought their away uniforms looked like high school practice unis. Dull and boring does not equal traditionally stylish.
 




Does anything really matter now that the NCAA and B1G removed the sanctions? Business as usual.
 

Penn State's uniforms have long been my favorite in college football. I prefer no player names. It's a team game. I like PSU's simple, traditional look that says "we don't have to be flashy." Re uniforms and flashy, I wish the Gophers would tone down the gold from the gold-incisors-garish look to something more subtle. Something like Gold PMS 124. Much classier. Fire away.
 



I think he following teams have no names on the back of the jersey. USC, Notre Dame, Boston College, and teams like Penn State going back adds to list that now includes USF. I think Alabama was one of the last teams to abandon no names and they can do what ever Nick says. I would prefer that the Gophers chose this route.
 

Makes it easier to photoshop Sandusky on the uniform.
 






Beth Mowins and Joey Galloway just called - said don't take the names off the jerseys - they have enough trouble figuring out what's going on now......
