For Gopher hoops, I start with the 1990 Elite 8 game vs Georgia Tech. We lost by 2, but GaTech shot 27 FTs and we shot 5. Willie played 33 minutes and didn't go to the line once. Coffey played 32 minutes and didn't go to the line once. Give me a break.

I'd then go with the 2002 loss to Illinois at home. Crowd was rocking, Monson had the program turning the corner and we had the game until a brutal turnover in the backcourt. Alas...

Go Gophers!!

Regular Season: #1 is 2002 Illinois. How do you blow a 7 point lead in one minute?

#2 is 2014 vs Northwestern in Pitino's first year when Mo Walker missed a layup that would have won it.

Both games would have put them in the NCAA's IMO.

Postseason: 1997 Kentucky is worse than 1990 GT IMO. Eric Harris' injury and the refs cost us a real shot at the national title. Beating GT would have meant making the Final Four but then losing by 25 to UNLV.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was crushed. I have despised GT ever since.

That team was special.

And iirc Kevin Burleson was the guard having trouble. I felt horrible for him.

I will never get over Kentucky in the national semifinal as long as I live. That's why I can't watch the Clemson game: Harris' injury ended our title contention.
