My old HS coach and teacher Bob Wasko was a member of that team. After pitching only 31 innings during the season, he pitched 19 1/3 during the CWS, won two games, and was named to the All Tournament team. He had to retire as a player after getting hit in the throat by a line drive. He said he was never able to pitch a ball after that without flinching and it ended his ability to pitch well.Always liked him. RIP Tom Moe
3 grandkids to end up as D1 athletes is rather remarkable. Thanks for posting, even though it was in the article.Father-in-law to former football player Bob Coughlin. Grandfather to Carter Coughlin, Cole Kramer & current Gopher hockey player Mason Moe.
EDIT: I guess I should have read article first; info listed.
Rick Bay was good dude.By far the best AD in the last 60+ years. There was one or two others that didn't suck as an AD (some of them offering to, quite literally), but only Tom Moe had the gravitas to bring the department together and make decisions that no one else at the university was interested in making.
A true leader, he did a masterful job in his short tenure of setting the school up for success (not that the Admin actually pursued success in any meaningful way after he left).
On top of that, a good guy. I met him at the MicronPC.com bowl and had a brief, pleasant conversation.
