PA on the KFAN said something interesting on the FAN today. He loves how the offensive line is developing and improving as the season went on and that was one of the big keys on the season. He especially singled out OT Green for spectacular play vs. the Badgers. He is pretty much in line with everyone else coming back and how good the offense is going to be next year but one thing he would really like that would add another dimension and make this team even better is a TE that can stretch the defense. Not sure if we have that guy on the team but that should be something the team is looking for.
We might have that guy in Seth Green. If Green were to be utilized more as a pass catching TE he could REALLY confound defenses and be an elite weapon. The only problem with that is he is a tremendous short yardage QB. The only ones who could stop him vs. the Badgers were the referees and an inexplicably bad ball spot!! Going forward though, what are the chances Green is utilized in more passing plays downfield as a TE? It is probably where he will end up if he makes it into the pros and he could really do some damage there if they use him right.
One thing for sure - he had a very good year! But I hope we see a lot more of #17 in the future!
