Top 100 (3): Western Kentucky (43), UNLV (67), Kentucky (79)

The Good?: The Cardinals have adeptly scheduled, avoiding the cupboard-full of RPI killers that so many major programs schedule. There are no 300+ foes on the slate. True, most of UL's opponents aren't a serious threat to win in Freedom Hall, but clearly Pitino made an effort to schedule a lot of decent opponents.

The (not so) Bad?: It's a rarity, but I like it. ... a BCS school willing to open its season with something other than a cupcake. The Cardinals open with a neutral-site game (Saint Louis) vs. what should be a decent Arkansas squad.

The Ugly?: How will Slick Rick be treated on his visit to Lexington just after the new year? I hope he doesn't decide to hold a press conference on New Year's Day telling the world how wronged he has been.
