Painful end to a fun run!

I think some really good things came out of the NIT run-- Dre taking charge of games and of the team, Rodney stepping up big, Andre Ingram justifying his year, Tubby learning to limit the minutes of some of the guys that might have contributed to the 6-12 B1G record plus some other things I am forgetting right now. And with a full roster coming back next year things are looking up for the first off-season in a while.

The one thing I haven't seen anywhere here is that our roster coming back next year looks pretty good, but how about Stanfords? They have 10 guys coming back from that team with 2 four star recruits and a 3 star guy too. Johnny Dawkins has it going in his 4th year there.

They have things to be cautiously optimistic about, but this is also a team that finished 7th in one of the worst major conferences in memory (maybe ever), including a loss to a 6-25 Utah team when Stanford was still hoping to position itself for an NCAA berth. They looked like world beaters against us, but the jury is definitely still out on Johnny Dawkins.

"if the ncaa actually gave a damn about the top 68 teams being involved there would no longer be a norfolk state, south dakota state, lehigh, and so on."

It's gonna be pretty tough to beat this for the Most Outstanding Unintentionally Funny GopherHole Comment Award of 2012. Really nice work.

The NCAA never intended to have the top 68 teams. Granting an automatic bid to each and every conference champion allows every team to 'play themselves into the tournament'. The exception would be an independent.

Exactly right, 19. However, too many people feel their personal opinion carries more weight that looking at the overall big picture.

This is the intent of any tournament...Earn your way in, ya get to play in the tournament.
