P.J. Fleck 'really excited' about where Gophers football stands with NIL

Agree. I wouldn't be opposed if the Stadium only sold beer with NIL attachment. If that means the only beer available is Duck Duck, so be it. Yeah, some folks won't be happy, but I'm guessing 90% of beer drinkers at a Gopher sports event will be just fine drinking Duck Duck. This would also help spread the word on NIL. If someone asks the server, "why is there only one beer brand available?" After the server explains that the players are benefitting from Duck Duck sales, most will say, "Oh, okay, cool."

On a related note, this week I finally signed up for the base Club level with Dinkytown Athletes.
Based-ass take! I would 1000% support this.

I feel like the portal/NIL has overall been a positive for Minnesota football and a negative for Minnesota basketball over the past few years.

In football we have seemed to retain the majority of our stars and have brought in some quality players from the portal.

In basketball the results have been much more mixed.
Might have something to do with the coaches too?

I feel like the Stadium does a really bad job of promoting anything NIL related.

This could totally be a rules violation, and maybe that's why. I'm sure someone with a smug attitude will be ready to tell me exactly why we can't. But until then, wouldn't it be nice to advertise NIL donations on the big screen occasionally...use a QR code? Or make it extremely clear that Duck Duck is what we should be drinking?

I think a lot of programs are running into the same issue. Schools are in a bit of a tough spot. If they allow NIL to be promoted a bunch they run the risk of losing donor dollars to NIL. They don't want that cash cow to stop.

Athletic Departments have a tough road to navigate going forward. So do the big money donors. Do they continue to donate exclusively to the school and get those perks they're used to getting or do they move to more NIL contributions and risk losing them. Or do some donors focus their contributions on 1 or 2 sports.

I fit this. Basketball used to be my second favorite Gopher sport. It no longer is. Here's the ranking I've had for a few years:

1. Football
2. Hockey
3. Volleyball
4. Basketball
My favorite Gopher spectator activities are,
1. Football
2. Volleyball
3. Marching Band
4. Men's BB
5. Baseball
6. Men's or Women's Hockey

Now there’s a great idea I love it.

With the announcement today about DTA donations receiving gopher score points, they seem to be embracing it and not shying away from the fact that this could cut into their direct donations.

I saw that. I have no idea how they are going to figure out which ticket holders are donating. But I hope I get my meager points!

what does Duck Duck taste like? If it tastes like beer, smells like beer, and produces the same results as beer, i'd be down.

I'm assuming they will have to link it by email address. So just make sure your gopher sports account and dta account use the same email.
