Have to imagine the U will wait for New Mexico to make a decision and announcement. Our top targets are all still coaching. Time to be cool.Have to imagine the announcement comes tomorrow
current players and recruits need to know....It has dragged out long enoughHave to imagine the U will wait for New Mexico to make a decision and announcement. Our top targets are all still coaching. Time to be cool.
It’s been three days... all of the targets are likely coaching. No rush needed. Letting Pitino interview elsewhere is a respectful move. That stuff matters to other coaches in the coaching fraternity. Coyle will handle this right.current players and recruits need to know....It has dragged out long enough
I'm fairly sure the current players and commits are aware he'll be firedcurrent players and recruits need to know....It has dragged out long enough
Coyle and the New Mexico AD are playing chicken.JHFC get it done already.
Who cares? In the unlikely event someone else is stupid enough to hire a complete failure like Pitino, more power to em.Coyle and the New Mexico AD are playing chicken.
Indiana already announced Miller....This is a jokeCoyle and the New Mexico AD are playing chicken.
If waiting 24 hours saves $1-1.25 million on the buyout, it's worth it. It's the difference between getting out of it completely and only offsetting whatever NM pays him, which will be far less than $1.75 million.Who cares? Meanwhile, we don't have a coach.

Must be niceMeanwhile in Indiana...
Just throwing money at problems in a COVID year.
If we want to hire Archie, he'd probably coach for free just to screw em.Meanwhile in Indiana...

It has become toddlers playing with the big boys type stuff......I'm glad we didnt hurt Pitino's feelings before we found him another jobIf we are really waiting for New Mexico to offer Pitino a soft landing spot, we are a totally chicken shit operation.
Running on a shoe string budget hoping for someone else to pay for our mistakes.
I think you guys are over-reacting. We're not hiring anyone before next Monday or Tuesday at the earliest. Does it really matter if we fire him today or tomorrow? Give it 24-48 hours. It has become toddlers playing with the big boys type stuff......I'm gld we didnt hurt Pitino's feelings before we found him another job
They could have fired him last week and it would been the same as this week....Trying to save a little money and helping him find a soft landing spot is pathetic considering what Indiana just did.I think you guys are over-reacting. There's no getting out of a $10 million buyout. Not really apples to apples. If you fired someone today and cost $1.75 million that you could have saved by waiting 24 hours, would you be upset? They could have fired him last week and it would been the same as this week....Trying to save a little money and helping him find a soft landing spot is pathetic considering what Indiana just did.
We don't have the boosters that Indiana basketball does. There's no rush anyways, since our likely top candidates are in the tourney. They could have fired him last week and it would been the same as this week....Trying to save a little money and helping him find a soft landing spot is pathetic considering what Indiana just did.
There is no guarantee he gets hired anywhere....Pitino is a big boy he can take care of himself....Waiting longer makes it look worseThere's no getting out of a $10 million buyout. There is nothing wrong about putting out an official statement that the U has moved on and still waiting next week to hire your guy.....Hoping for Pitino to find a job so you can save a little money is little league stuff. We don't have the boosters that Indiana basketball does. $1.75 million isn't peanuts when athletic departments all over are struggling due to the pandemic. Pitino has a pretty good chance at the New Mexico job since the AD there played under Billy Donovan. If he doesn't get the job Coyle will probably get rid of him anyways, so why not wait a couple days and possibly save $1.75 million? It will be looked at as a shrewd move if it happens. There is nothing wrong about putting out an official statement that the U has moved on and still waiting next week to hire your guy.....Hoping for Pitino to find a job so you can save a little money is little league stuff.

Indiana's athletic department isnt paying the 10 million.... Its nice to have big time boosters.Indiana must not be struggling
