Our schedule compared to Iowa's

Everything will even out, and the next two years it'll be Wisconsin fans making the exact same complaints as Minnesota fans, plus 50%. Instead of Rutgers and Maryland as the crossovers. Wisconsin will play Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. in fact, the Big Ten schedule opens with those three games, two of which are on the road (and they play LSU, too). You can't do anything about your conference schedule, even Barry's influence only goes so far. It all evens out as it always has.

No it never evens out. Next year we have 5 Conf road games. The year after, Michigan comes back on the schedule. The year after that, I think OSU or MSU. And so on.

We will never have one year, let alone two, where we get a schedule as favorably imbalanced as Wisconsin and Iowa did these last two years.

You must be missing next year, and 2019 where the Gophers avoid Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan St.

iOS could very well still have to play OSU in the conference finals. Then they will not look so great when they get blown out by 40 like wi did last year.

Schedules are a huge factor in the outcome of seasons. Every year it is a new team, new attitude, even if you have a lot of the same people. If the Gophers had beaten TCU game one like they expected to...our season would be completely different. Not just one more win. Big plays are also critical. Leidner stands up and reaches the ball over the goal line ala Tom Brady and we beat Michigan....just break the plane. We made lots of big plays to be in position to win. Those two things...an easier schedule with the momentum of wins and guys finding a way to make big plays and you win a lot. Lose and it's tough to summon unshakeable confidence you are going to win when you keep playing Top 25 teams. Winning and losing both feed off each other in different directions. Our schedules have been brutal!

Or, if they are undefeated they could use the momentum wave and beat them. Even though they are not nearly as good...it just takes some game changing plays and Iowa could start dancing like Northwestern on the sidelines against us when we only wanted to go home. Not saying Iowa would roll Ohio State at all but the possibility is greater imo they could compete if they go in the game undefeated.

Iowa not looking good today. Although Indiana when healthy at QB is better than their record.

Next year everyone in the west has two conference road crossover games
