Our favorite villain back in the Big 10?

Not right now is he is not. He used to be a winner. Now he is a loser. 2-14 conference winning percentage sucks in any conference.

I understand why Arkansas is hopeful but the love and respect coming from this board is bizarre.

I love how people float around the conference winning percentage in his first two years like it shows any reflection at all of his coaching ability.

Were you guys calling for Jerry's head when we lost to NDSU and New Mexico State? How about about getting the **** kicked out of us against Nebraska, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Michigan? In some cases multiple times? Or is patience only allowed with our coaches and everyone else needs to win immediately or they suck? Is Jerry's 4-12 with wins against 4 scrubs really much better than Bert's record in the best division in America? How long did it take Jerry to beat a ranked team? 3 years? Bert did it 2 in blowout fashion. Oh, and they're bowl eligible in year 2, just like Jerry.

Arkansas was a rebuilding job. He's implementing his system and he did a pretty damn good job in the last month of year 2. I'm sure year 3 will be a fun one for them. Bert's an asshole, but he's a good coach.

Anybody who wants that guy back in the conference is insane.

We should strive to play just like his teams at Wisconsin.

I've been told that Wisconsin fans look upon Bielema with more hate and disdain than any other player, coach, team, or school. Was in a large Madison sports bar on a football Saturday last year and besides the rah-rahs for Bucky, the only passionate cheers heard were for whoever Arkansas was playing that day.

If he would have been on the sidelines with Nebraska this year, Badgers would have played Gordon all four quarters and maybe surpassed the 70 points scored in the 2012 conference title game.

Agree to disagree.
He played the bully while the big programs struggled with coaching transitions/scandals/etc.
Add in Alvarez basically is one of the best football centric AD's in the country and he really didn't accomplish much IMO.
He also had a habit of losing big games and DOMINATING against terrible teams, us included.
He'd probably do fine at Nebraska, he'll struggle to win 8 games at Arkansas.

He might be a good coach, he might not be. I just don't see him getting a better gig after going 2-14. Apparently his yearly record at Wisconsin was worse than Pelini's at Nebraska. He will not be Nebraska's coach.

As I said, which you ignore, is I understand why Arkansas is hopeful.

If Arkansas is good next year, then we can talk again but right now, he remains 2-14. I will note that I remember no threads about Jerry Kill moving to another program when we were losing to NDSU and New Mexico State.

I will eat my words. Bielema likely was contacted and is clearly preferable to Mike Riley.

I'm holding out hope that he goes to Iowa someday. Then we have even more reason to hate them.

I agree with this if Bielema is going to leave Arkansas he is now probably holding out for Iowa, hoping that Ferentz will move on and that he can come in as the favored son, savior and alumni and restore the greatness to Iowa football that there delusional fans have come to expect.

GoForGold hit it on the head, he's in Arkansas for the long haul. Ferentz's contact isn't up for a long time.

He wants to come back to Iowa but will let Ferentz run his course in IC.
