What a warrior to battle back from that career ending injury and in just a few weeks!

I think he's been pretty sung. What a great effort!

Say what you like but without Oto we lose tonight. Unsung hero of the game, imo.

+1. I'm not sure if this changes the plan for next year? I know they were hesitant about even putting him in the PSU game because it's a medical waiver. If he's decided to keep playing, I'm fine with it. We still need help at the 4 and Oto will provide more next year than a Spring signing or a JC transfer. My only concern is that if it is a degenerative injury, is there a decent chance he'll have the same issue and miss huge amounts of time?

'Shooting up' that knee for one or two games is one thing. Doing it for a whole season is another. I'm sure it isn't even possible.

For such a "fan" you're an as*hole when it comes to players you don't consider worthy.

Dude what is your problem? I thought it was a great refrence since we played in the Garden tonight and no one thought Oto could play. The thread title made me laugh, hence the LOL.

Not sure what you have against me but I ain't going anywhere so you better get over it.

ETA: I'm guessing you have no idea who Willis Reed is and why it's an amusing comparison, so here you go.

Oto saved us last night. I think Pitino called him the MVP. If that was his last game (I guess he'll probably play tomorrow, but maybe not) what a way to go out!

Yeah we don't win if Oto doesn't play last night. Is EE playing in the Championship? If not, I see Oto shooting up again.

I was thinking the same thing! Doctors and top scientist will be flying into New York today from all over the world.

After seeing Pitino yank and yell at Buggs multiple times last night... If Buggs does transfer, I'd want Oto to stick around for class balance and another senior and good teammate to come off the bench for limited minutes.

Not going to happen. Oto has said he doesn't want to play anymore to make his injury worse. It was his decision to suit up last night, but one game is a lot different than practicing and playing an entire season.

Um, no. He isn't going to shoot up every night to play another season.

Hoping Buggs doesn't transfer, and I'm sure the coach would agree. Buggs has shown good potential, and he's an energy guy and a gamer. He'll be a good project for the coaching staff.

What is he shooting up Doctor?

In an unexpected twist on what seemed like a manageable injury, the Gophers sent out a news release on Wednesday announcing that the 6-8 junior forward from Latvia wouldn’t be back on the court — either this year or next.

Osenieks, who last played at Ohio State on Feb. 22, has had cartilage issues in his left knee, spawning from old surgeries. The Gophers had downplayed the injury, not ruling Osenieks out of playing at Michigan last Saturday until the day of the game.

“Unfortunately, this injury will limit his ability to continue playing beyond this season,” coach Richard Pitino said in a release.

This injury is quite the mystery.
