Anyone else feel like having to wait through a Tuesday and Wednesday for more football is just too many days?

YESSSSSS!!! Withdrawal symptoms here. I have no fundamental reasons to drink beer. So I will anyway.

What's with Penn St. playing Rutgers this week? No one else plays a conference game until week 5.

Now that Penn St can go bowling, I'll be cheering for Rutgers.

Baylor is beating up on Buffalo. But they just had a play where Baylor fumbled. Their QB recovered it for a second but it didn't look like he actually ever had control of it and Buffalo ended up with the ball. The refs awarded Baylor the ball but it was pretty obvious when looking at the replay that the Baylor QB never recovered it. They didn't replay it.

The announcing booth got clarification from the replay officials during the next commercial break and the response from the officials was that because the game was not competitive (it was 49-14 at the beginning of the 4th), they weren't going to review it. Huh? I get not reviewing if a team got a first down on a 2nd down play or something but this was a turnover.

Am I overreacting or is that really stupid?

That is ridiculous. The score of the game should NEVER alter a decision on a replay. EVER.

After playing the commitment musical chairs with Indiana, LSU, and Notre Dame, Gunner Kiel looked awfully good for Cincinnati tonight.

Most of the early games this weekend are snoozers. The best game is probably Maryland vs West Virginia, but I just can't get on board with Maryland being in the big ten. I certainly don't feel like I'm watching a big ten team yet. Just not used to it.

I was hoping Maryland would win this one for the conference. But the Big Ten woes continue. Hopefully we can break the trend this afternoon.

The Big Ten looks worse this year than we were last year. It has been ugly ooc.

OSU loses to VT last week in a game that VT controlled.

VT is currently getting throttled @ home (21-0) by ECU.

That Virginia Tech team that beat Ohio State in Columbus last week is currently down 21-0 to East Carolina in the first quarter.

Exactly. If this is the case, why doesn't the replay official just pack it up and head home once a team gets up by 30+? If they're not going to review a turnover, then they're not going to review anything.

I'll get over it if we beat TCU. But ya, watching the B1G humiliate itself is sad.

Unless we get blown out by TCU, I think we look just about as good as anyone going into the conference schedule. That's just how bad it is right now.

Maryland trying to stay in it. Just scored on a long pass with busted coverage. Now 28-13.

East Carolina up 21-0 and they get stopped on 4th down close to the goal line. Then a few plays later, VA Tech throws a pick. Then E. Carolina fumbles at the 1 yard line. A few plays later VA Tech throws another pick and E. Carolina has the ball inside the 25. Tech looks horrible.

Looks like Maryland just cut it to 1 score.

Nevermind.

That was actually a very nice play by the receiver. He used his body extremely well.

WR's are making plays all over the field in this game. It's obvious how much work we have to do in recruiting and developing better playmakers at that position.

I would have to disagree with you. We've recruited very talented receivers the past couple years. Our receivers coach might not be up to snuff in developing them, but I think most of the problem is not having a quarterback that can get the ball to his receivers.

Of course our QB play hasn't been very good but it'd be nice if we had a WR who could catch a 5-yard hitch, make a few guys miss, and take it to the house, or go up and make a play on a fade that isn't perfectly thrown. We haven't seen that recently either. Our QB's have taken the majority of the blame for a struggling pass offense despite all aspects of it needing work and development.
