Big win for Ohio State. Louisville made the Final Four last season.

Ohio State had 13 steals. Even against Louisville they do it.

On the season Ohio State has earned a whopping 124 steals compared to only 38 for opponents.

Last year Indiana had five players on the top 25 for scoring -- but more towards the bottom of the top 25 list. Consistent scoring.

This season 6' 3" forward Mackenzie Holmes of Indiana is #2 in the Big Ten for points scored per game, as of yesterday's stats.

Turnovers created minus turnovers committed.

And that's a quick glance at stats in the Big Ten with a slight focus on Indiana.

Never been a fan of overhyped Notre Dame but it seems so classless to me to do the silence gesture and sticking your tongue out at the crowd. Stick to celebrating with your team rather than taunting.

Agreed. I do have a positive ND bias but can’t help that she is allowed 2 do this by her coach. I was in South Bend last year 4 a game that became very heated. Coach Ivey immediately took her player out that was ? “ trash talking “. When asked about it after the game she said “ I tell our players that we let our play speak for us and our expectation is competitive but with good sportmanship.

#10 Iowa fell to 5-3 after losing to #12 North Carolina State -- despite Caitlin Clark scoring 45!!

Iowa chose a difficult schedule as a strategy for better tournament seeding, after being upset in the NCAA tournament last year. So far Iowa has lost every ranked-team game plus to Kansas State.

The Gophers could deliver a decleater blow to Iowa next weekend the 10th. Unlikely this season with the young Gopher players -- that's for next season -- but it could happen.

Bottom dweller Illinois has exceeded expectations. Illinois beat Pitt comfortably last Wednesday.

"Ohio State women's basketball moved to 9-0 on the season by outscoring New Hampshire 53-7 in the second half and surging to a 92-36 win Thursday at Value City Arena....

No. 3 OSU used its press defense to force 18 New Hampshire turnovers in the game's final 20 minutes, and when the Wildcats did get shots off, they failed to make them, converting just 2 of their 23 second-half attempts (8.7%)....

"At the start of the year, we were one of the hardest-playing teams in the country," said [coach] McGuff. "I think we got back to that in the second half and the results were reflective of that."

While Ohio State played without Jacy Sheldon (lower right leg injury) and Mya Perry (undisclosed), the Buckeyes were still able to force 27 turnovers overall and recorded 17 steals. Of those thefts, five belonged to Cotie McMahon." END QUOTE

In Madison, the Badgers (4-8) trailed St Thomas (4-5) 45-48 entering the fourth quarter. Wisconsin outscored the Tommies 27-16 in the fourth to notch a 72-64 victory.

Another big win for Maryland as the Terps took down UConn 85-78. Maryland was 12-30 from three.

UConn is without both Paige Bueckers (for the season) and Azzi Fudd (some games).

Maryland seems like a dangerous, top-20, but uneven team. I hope the Gophers fill that spot next season, literally.

The Badgers (4-9) continued their losing ways with a 60-70 road loss at UWGB. It was Wisconsin's fourth straight loss to the Phoenix. It was also Wisconsins 8th loss in nine games with the only win coming against St. Thomas 72-64. It's a long year ahead in Madison.

I really thought they would be a bit better this year. but man they just look like the same ol same old Badgers..

Hilliard was elite her first couple years and now you barely notice her.. I'm guessing injuries have slowed her.
Maybe even more surprising is Ellew, who had 29 points in her first ever game and since then now barely plays.
They just dont have the footspeed to stop power 5 players.

Hilliard sat out the first eight games. I'm uncertain whether this was related to the leave of absence she took at the end of last season.

#6 North Carolina State is losing to #19 Michigan at the half. I think Michigan will pull it off.

#3 Ohio State is trapped in a nail-biter with unranked South Florida. I would be shocked if Ohio State didn't pull away.

OSU pulls out the OT win. Looks like they were without star Jacy Sheldon

In Lincoln, Nebraska (10-3) handed Kansas (10-1) their first loss 85-79 in triple OT. Jaz Shelley led the Huskers with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Ohio State with another big win.

Can't wait until the Gophers next year are among the "top talk" -- if they can get the defense up.

Been waiting to see how Husker dual sport (volleyball/WBB) star recruit Maggie Mendelson would do as she is finished with volleyball and now hooping. Played 17 minutes and had 9 pts and 9 reb. Not a bad 2nd game in college for the 17 year old who jumped a year to be in this class and was mostly concentrating on volleyball until the last two weeks ago.

Huskers has lost to Drake and Creighton, badly, but have now comeback and beat Maryland and Kansas. Will be interesting to see if they can keep it going vs #19 Michigan, next up for them.

On Tuesday, Dec. 20, the Ohio State Buckeyes needed overtime and late magic to beat the USF Bulls 88-86.

Before guard Taylor Mikesell hit a big three-pointer in the extra period, the Scarlet & Gray were dealt a blow when guard Madison Greene went down holding her knee....

"Last season, Greene suffered a season-ending knee injury before the season began, missing the entire 2021-22 Big Ten regular season championship-winning season.

This year, Greene played in Ohio State’s first 12 games. It took a couple of games to get back into game speed but she acclimated quickly. In those dozen appearances, Greene averaged 10.9 points and 5.0 assists per game."
