Not watching so I'm not sure if the calls are good, but in the currently-in-OT PSU/OSU game, PSU has been called for twice as many fouls as OSU (two Nittany Lions have already fouled out). And OSU has shot more than twice as many free throws (34-14). Which is helping the come-from-behind Buckeyes run away with it on OT, having scored all seven points with less than two minutes to go.

I didn't see it either, looking at the boxscore...uff-da...

Nebraska beat Maryland, a big win for Nebraska. I think this is the first time Nebraska beat Maryland at Nebraska. It's the first time in 17 games that Nebraska beat Maryland.

Next season Britt Prince (top-30 ESPN HoopGurlz and previously rated higher) will play for Nebraska, her home-state team.

Nebraska has a better than average NIL program. I wonder if Nebraska is now surging.

Last season Nebraska seemed to surge but then stalled towards the end of the season, including losing to Minnesota.

MD losing today will probably result in them bringing increased intensity on Wednesday. Watching them play against NB they r good but don’t seem to have the overall talent as previous years. Either way we will need to play an excellent game to win.

Brenda is a great coach, and they have some good pieces this year, but still looks like the weakest MD team in their BIG years (this is year 10). Time for some other BIG teams, including the Gophers on Wed., to get rare wins against MD.

Maryland shot better on field goals.

But Nebraska way out-rebounded Maryland. Nebraska made way more shot attempts than Maryland. And then shooting percentages were solid enough for the shots to score.

Watched most of the game and Husker's freshman Natalie Potts had a huge rebounding game with 13 boards, 7 being offensive. She also added 17 points for a big double-double. She was the difference maker in this game. Markowski had her own double-double at 20 and 10.

Penn State is stomping Northwestern 92-53 late in the 4th.

Later tonight, surging Michigan State gets a shot at conference leader Iowa.

MSU 37-35 at half. 55-55 end of third.

Stupid technical foul on MSU. Hanging with IO 66-62 with 4 minutes left.

I hope the Gophers r watching this MSU D . CC scoring the usual but containing the others.

? call on Hageman on a non shooting foul. She then ties the game 73-73. CC drains a last second 3 …..

Davis pump faked a 3 and Hagemann jumped into her, but Davis had already started dribbling to drive, yet called a shooting foul. Huge blown call. Think MSU was only at 3 fouls called in the half at that time so wouldn't have been a bonus situation either.

Kinda crazy MSU ended with 5 free throw attempts for how hard they were attacking the basket all game. The game in general was very physical and a lot was let go (and it was more enjoyable).

not many teams get a bunch of ft's at Iowa.. I always say it's 8-5 when you play at Iowa..

Tonight:

Indiana is favored by 8.5 over Michigan.

Nebraska is favored by 14.5 over Wisconsin.

. . . Dawn Staley calls out bogus foul call that gave game to Iowa.
As has been covered on The Boneyard and various other places, the call in question was wrong, but “gave [the] game to Iowa” is not close to accurate. The game was tied when a shooting foul was incorrectly called. The MSU played killed the Iowa player, but she wasn’t shooting. A correct call of a foul "on the floor" would have awarded Iowa the possession in a tie game. Who knows, maybe Iowa would have hit a 3 instead of only making 2 free throws. Or maybe Iowa would have thrown the ball away. Lots of things could've happened differently. MSU also then tied the game on the next possession after the wrongly-awarded free throws, scoring very quickly, which MSU wouldn't have done if the game was tied. MSU would have held the ball for the last shot in a tie game. So lots of things could have happened differently. But the erroneous shooting-foul call did not decide the game.

Staley also goes out of her way to complain about Iowa because she is still mad about losing to Iowa in the Final Four. She spent the summer whining that Iowa had 1 more day of rest than South Carolina did before they met in the Final Four. She felt that South Carolina playing the regional in South Carolina was not enough of a benefit, and that the overall # 1 seed should have received the extra day off (rather than let Iowa play on the Sunday before the Final Four, which was what TV wanted).

Michigan lost. Nebraska won.

Michigan this season has lost to Indiana, Florida, Toledo, and Ole Miss. Michigan upset Ohio State.

Last season #6 seed Michigan lost to eventual champ LSU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament after beating UNLV in the first round.

In the NE loss, WI looked MUCH better than I expected. The middle/lower part of the conference has improved.

First sellout at Rutgers since 2006.
