Ha! Love it. He's been in Hollywood a while, but the Becky hate still runs strong in this one. Wants absolutely nothing to do with being incorrectly associated with that God forsaken state to the east. Good man Nick, good man.

I live out of state and that's exactly how I feel every time someone says "Oh you're from Wisconsin, right?"

Fantastic! I love Swardson's brand of comedy.

I have a coworker who used to call me Wisconsin all the time just because she knew it pissed me off.

This might be sacrilege, but now that I have been living out of state for 6+ years I get excited whenever I meet someone from WI/IA/the Dakotas. Sure, I don't like their football teams, but the people are generally really great folks.

This is sacrilege. Sorry Eker. I lived out-of-state for a long while and when/if anyone confused me for a Wisconsinite/Iowan/Illinoisian I would promptly explain how much better our state was in comparison.

There are definitely those that think all these Midwestern "fly-over" states are the same, but it is our God given duty to explain the difference to them.

And because it is our God given duty to explain, at least we have tinarch for our spokesman.

I live in Kenosha and these people are terrible. Whenever I meet someone and they hear I'm from MN they ask if I'm a Gopher/Viking fan and make some smug comment. I usually say 'oh I didn't realize you were on the team' and they shut up. That or 'I don't trash talk with WI fans since I'm guessing you had about as much to do with any of your teams success as I have'

I understand he's a great guy, and his sister is dynamite. I mean from a personal/professional standpoint.

Except we aren't friends really. Somewhat cordial enemies maybe.

Great tweet!! Thanks for posting.

Go Gophers!!

When the most famous person out of Wisconsin is serial killer Ed Gein, you've a problem.

I feel like we are better than everybody else because we made a conscious decision to go against the institutionalized stupidity which surrounded our young selves.

I know many fine folks from Sconnie land that had the good sense to move west, mostly for jobs I know but at least they had the good sense to move out. The only thing I do not get about those folks is there smuggness about college and pro football teams. When you listen to them talk about it, you do get the genuine sense that a lot of them think because they are such great fans that they have played a roll in their teams success especially the Pro team. Oh well, I can appreciate that Kwik Trip is from there and has better food than SA but what else?

Count me in as a former Badger converted over to a Gopher. Lived most of my life across the moat. I think the conversion experience makes me more hardcore. Gopher by choice, not by birth.

I'm a 'Sconnie by birth/choice but support Gopher athletics due to education.

I lived in and love the Twin Cities, travel often to Brainerd and Duluth.

Your highways, alleged # of lakes being so important, and the rest of the state you can have. I'll take beer, cheese, cows and more beer any day/night of the week. Everything you've got, we've got 3 or 4 better!

Gauntlet thrown. Hopefully my boys are here to back me!

You've the Dells. We've the Boundary Waters. I rest my case.

Not sure Minnesota ever boasts about our highways.

Wisconsin claims to have more lakes because they have different criteria for a lake. Wisconsin tends to count all lakes, ponds, slews, as lakes. And I dare you to find better lakes than in Northern Minnesota.

I would argue that Minnesota has a lot better beer. Wisconsin's #1 beer is Miller Lite. Basically cat piss. Minnesota is one of the top craft beer producing states. Cheese, you got us.

Spoken like a true Minnesotan... Lakes in norther USA are truly divine. You are quite naive to think that the lakes in Northern Minnesota are vastly superior to those in Wisconsin, they were formed by the same glaciers years ago. For every fantastic lake Minnesota has, Wisconsin has one very similar. There is a substantial area of Northern Wisconsin that is littered with pristine lakes that would match whatever it is you are determining as critiera for a "good lake". What count's and the number is irrelevant, lakes are great doesn't matter what side of the river you are on.

Name your source that Minnesota is a greater craft brewery state than Wisconsin, I'll name mine that claims Wisconsin is better than Minnesota.

http://www.brewersassociation.org/

Per their analytics in 2012 Wisconsin out produces/consumes and receives greater economic impact from their craft brewery's compared to Minnesota. Neither is tops in the nation, and they are neck in neck. Throw in the birth place (no longer incorporated in) of Miller and Wisconsin is by far and away a better beer state than Minnesota.

Boundary waters are great no doubt, one downside is they butt up against America's hat rather than a large body of water or another portion of our great nation like our great bodies of water do. We've got more Great Lake frontage than you guys do, you cannot compete with our fishing on Lake Michigan and we basically share our views/access to Lake Superior. You cited the Dells, but Door County is much better spend of time and a better comparison, though still not even close to a good comparison, to the boundary waters.

Minnesota has more shoreline than California, Florida and Hawaii combined.

Oh, and you guys are AWFUL drunks.

http://www.chrisfinke.com/2013/12/30/does-minnesota-really-have-more-shoreline-than-california/ ~ Verified.... You picked some lake poor states though.... it takes more yarn to make a circle than a straight line. Lakes add up !!!! Good bar triva though... Would love to know where Wisconsin stood in that for a pissing match!

As far as drunks, it all depends on how you grade a drunk i guess ;) I'd argue you guys don't get drunk.

Well, similar to your comment regarding Miller we are/were the birthplace of Grain Belt, Hamm's and Schmidt breweries. At their respective peaks, some of the largest breweries in the country, particularly Hamm's. If Hamm's & Schmidt were still incorporated and brewed here (Grain Belt is now owned & brewed by August Schell Brewing in New Ulm, MN) then it would also be a different story as well. Hey, just playing the game you have started here. ;)

Beer is beer is beer, and it all turns to piss.

It's just that everytime some of you piss, your pisses cost more than mine.

Same token for Pabsts then.... Which is similar scale to Schell (my perception I dont know that as a fact). The beer conversation between Minnesota and Wisconsin is really a silly one. It's not close, we consumer more, we tax it less, we have almost double the total number of breweries, we have arguably better brands, it's associated much more with our state.... We are a better beer state. ;)

Soooo we've got

Shoreline - Minnesota
Cheese - Wisconsin
Beer - Wisconsin

2-1

End of argument.

Pabst/Miller should never be bragged about unless we're comparing to Milwaukee's Best... Oh...

I view Minnesota & Wisconsin similar to the founding of Sprinfield & Shelbyville.....they were going to be one in the same, and then one of them (Wisconsin) wanted to break off so they could marry their cousins...they left & they got what they wanted.

Personally, I've always thought the I-94 stretch from just west of Menominie to just north of Tomah as some pretty driving.....

That's about it....
