On To Michigan

Collective chins up please - splitting the two games on the road and almost coming back from a seemingly insurmountable deficit is still something the Gophers can build upon.

Basketball as we know is uniquely a game of runs. When an excellent, home team goes on a run, it can become a mega run, all shots fall, the crowd magically wills turnovers that seem to get converted at a 90% rate into points.

That's what IU threw at the Gophers today.

Yet this team has heart and almost made a miraculous come back. Let's take care of #1 Michigan and we go forward looking great.

Go Gophers.

Dre was hurt through most of the non-conference...his playing time wasn't limited by Tubby...it was limited by his ankle and his conditioning. If you look at last year...he wasn't fully healthy until the end of the Big Ten play leading into the tourny. As for Coleman...he had several good games in Non-conference schedule...but his game really opened up after Mbakwe got hurt and Rodney moved to 4 so Joe could play more on the wing.

Exactly. I have frustrated with Tubby many a time, but the revisionist history is getting old. Hollins was a true frosh who got hurt. It impeded his development. Him coming on late was a natural progression and was not on Tubby.

Coleman was also an up and down freshman. He is now turning into a really smart player.

When you look back at last year and see what is happening this year, it all makes sense. That team was not ready. The NIT helped, and now they are an excellent team with Mbakwe. They are well-coached too.

There is a lot of revisionist history with the anti- tubby folks
