Yes, they are both redshirting. This was known and planned. They have a loaded incoming recruit class next year to go along with all the young talent this year. Take the very noticeable team chemistry improvement from a year ago and toss even more talent into that mix. Future is bright, and the present is quite doggone good, too!

I'm not sure Olivia and Sydney will be be here next year. They could easily opt to transfer somewhere where they will play more.

Sydney has played a little. She's done some good things and clearly has talent. I think she's caught in a numbers game. Even with Grote gone next year she's still behind Hansen, Wucherer, Acevedo & Crowl. If she wants to play she might need to transfer.

Why even waste time speculating about players transferring out? I'm fairly certain there were some people saying Hanson should leave because she'll never get to play here.

In this day and age, there are no guarantees that even starting players won't opt out. The key is to just keep stock-piling as much talent as you can so you can endure some yearly defections.
