***OFFICIAL RUTGERS AT MINNESOTA ATHAN’S DAD RETURN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Pj radio comment at half ‘I don’t regret a single decision just need to execute.’ Pistol set … cmon pj, it was dumb
Beyond the volume of bonehead play calls and poor utilization of our TO’s the level of stubbornness exhibited by PJF is hard to understand.

Stop blaming the non call, we had plenty of chances afterwards that we just made dumb coaching moves that didn't work. Sometimes those calls go your way, sometimes not. But it wasn't a pivotal play, Fleck would have done the same stupid "let's leave some time for Rutgers" moves, and "Let's just run up the middle on third and forth down even though it's only inches and we have a 6'4" QB.

This second half is huge everyone.

It's going to determine whether they play a bowl in Detroit or no bowl at all

4th and inches with a 230 pound QB and we go into a shotgun and run a delayed handoff....SO FREAKING STUPID!!!!
Scott Frost call. He liked to call slow developing plays where the RB has to advance 7-1/2 yards to make a 1/2 yard gain. OK if you have a dominant OL. Kind of sucks with mediocre OL facing a stacked front. PJ coaches as if he has a physically dominant team that can simply overpower the opponent. Sometimes, when you are equally matched (or overmatched!) you’ve got to out-think them. Not a PJ + Harbsugh strong point.

But if that’s called we get 5 yards and an automatic first down to put us in FG range, so that subsequent short yardage situation likely doesn’t happen.

You can't expect to win games by the refs getting every call in your favor right. You have to make plays on your own!

We just can not win against better coaching staffs that has similar talent. Fleck is not a coach, he's just a motivator, and these coaches under him are just ordinary. With an actual coach, we would have gone to half time with a 7 point lead.

I thought PJ learned his lesson last year. I had all the confidence in the world that we were a new team coming into this season. He is a fucking clown and that first half was coaching malpractice. They’re lucky they have a chance and I hope they fix it.

Imagine if we had a competent O Line, O Line Coach and O Coordinator. PJ needs to have a bowl of difficult conversations tomorrow with our O Coordinator and O Line Coach.

I do enjoy how many people are ready to throw the towel in after one half of the first conference game of the season. Last year was far worse, this isn't the spectacular meltdown that was the second half of the Iowa game last year. This is ugly but still very salvageable.

That’s the thing, the defenses are stacking 11. Plus, they seem to telegraph the run.

4th and inches. You have your big QB in shotgun...so stupid as to be incomprehensible.
This!

Remember, it was 3-1! Can’t fucking get one yard with two downs, you’re an idiot!

About of bone head play calls!

Same O line coach as all those years we ran all over teams, difference is the OC.

PJ’s worst coaching half of his career and that’s saying something.
Iowa second half last year was far worse, I was ready to throw the towel in on PJ. That was an abomination. Just a lot of knee-jerk reactions going on in the thread right now. Long season ahead of us, whether that's a good thing or a bad thing the team and coaches need to figure it out and quick.

We’ll see if this team has the mental to do this. Game is there for the taking. Get your shit together in the 2nd half. It’s not as bleak as being made out right now but it’s going to take this team coming together.
