January Big Ten basketball!!!! A ranked squad coming off a Natty title game appearance coming to The Barn!! This is what we crave as Gopher basketball fans. It's been 4 years since our last win over a ranked opponent. Ben Johnson doesn't like conference games during non-conference schedule, well no excuse for tonight. Barn should have some buzz, we've won 2 straight games, the "getting to know you" part of the season he talked about should be over. The "embrace the suck" part of his tenure should be over. Teams worse than MN will beat teams better than Purdue. We should have a game like that more often than once every 4 years.

Johnson needs this W badly. Our fans deserve this W.

GET 'ER DONE JOHNSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The conference home opener against MSU was a 5-point spread, too.

Purdue is a very good 3P shooting team, but takes only an average amount of them. They are good at drawing fouls and not committing them. Right around average rebounders and slightly below average in both committing and causing turnovers. Not a team with a high pace, but everyone is faster than MN.

Smith and Loyer shoot way too many midranges, but the difference between them and someone like Patterson is that they are deadly beyond the arc - 43% and 47%, respectively. Try to run them off the line. Also, Kaufman-Renn is shooting under 60% from the FT line.

Why is the line only Purdue by 5.5? Is that easy money or am I missing something?

I'm a little surprised its 5.5 but this Purdue team is very very flawed. So on the road they should not be some massive favorite

I would have expected more like 7-7.5. But nothing beyond that really

I'd like to thank the B1G for scheduling the Gophers and IU to play overlapping games today. :poop:
