It was an exciting game. I didn't have ties to either school, but enjoyed it. Well, besides having to listen to Dave Lee...seriously cannot comprehend how we had him so long for Gophers radio
 

Prince was amazing. It was old school football.
 


Gopher commit Tyler Johnson having a great game so far for Minneapolis North. Go Polars! 12-7 Mpls North over Minneota with 1 minute left in 1st qtr. 34 yard TD pass and a 60+ yard TD run. Have gone for 2pt conversions on both tries thus far and have missed both. Mpls North does not have a reliable place kicker so why they have gone for 2 on both PAT's thus far.
 

Wow is Tyler Johnson fun to watch.

Thanks for the heads up. Just tuned in. I've never seen him before. Kid is just ridiculous. Sure is fun to watch.
 

Johnson with another TD run he also had another pretty long TD called back that he made a bunch of guys miss on. He is very dynamic with the ball in his hands and watching him I would think he will probably be looked as a WR next year.
 

Johnson almost returns a 80 yd INT for a TD to end the half. Unfortunately finally tackled around the 15 yd line.

And don't get me wrong...this Minneota team looks pretty solid and well coached. Johnson is just playing that amazingly. Again I will say.....he is really fun to watch play FB.

Minneota beat North 35-18 for the Class A Championship and Johnson had a tough 2nd half fumbling a punt return and throwing a pick or 2. Pierz beat Jackson County Central 36-8 for the AAA title. The final game of the Prep Bowl is St. Thomas Academy against St. Michael-Albertville for the AAAAA Championship and STMA is up 7-0 in the 1st.
 

I'm so happy for Mpls North. This is a school that was darn near shut down just a few years ago. The community rallied around them, and they've experienced some athletics success after being moved down a couple classes recently. It's such a rough area...nice to have some pride around the high school.

Didn't see it live but lots of people are talking about it. Pretty pathetic. Kid should be suspended from participating in any sports for at least a few games.
