I get that. But as a defender you shouldn't have to guess what the offensive player is going to do there. You go hard until the QB starts the slide, then avoid if you can. Impossible for him to avoid there in my opinion. The minute you guess he will slide and you slow up is the time he just keeps going.

The rule just sucks. Not every situation is the same. Yet they treat it that way.
 

Some kinda ****ing joke. We are TERRIBLE.
