I keep reading here that "Niko is a really good coach". Based on what? The fact that he was successful at CS? Well now he is coaching in the Big Ten, and so far his body of work doesn't scream success either as a recruiter or a coach,
As to his coaching abilities, this team is regressing rather than progressing. Hardly the workings "of a really good coach". Likewise with his lack of recruiting prowess, despite having substantially more financial resources to work with than his predecessor .He basically recruited and built this team with the exception of a couple of holdovers. The product is far from the recruiting success of "a really good coach".
I realize it is not entirely fair to judge Niko so early in his tenure. Likewise, its very premature to judge his coaching ability . Time will tell one way or the other, but enough already with the Niko is a "really good coach" mantra.
