***OFFICIAL*** Minnesota Vs. Michigan State (GAME THREAD)

You guys can bitch and moan all you want, but I'm feeling rather proud of the effort from the team today. Playing a vastly superior team on the road today and the defense has played reasonably well today. Late in the 4th quarter we are within two scores.

We all know this season is in the dumper, we just need to wait for the next coach and start over from square one next year. I think we could win four or five games next year.

Well, that's real nice...but I think we can do much better than 4 or 5 wins with the right coach. Much better!

Mike-

I think many feel the same way. The point today is that MSU really is as good as their record indicates and there were some coaching issues early on and a dropped INT, followed by a TD that got it off to a bad start. I know I am going to sound like Coach Brew here, but I fell watching this game, Minnesota was only a few plays from it being close, competitive contest.

What is this??? I do not want to watch Iowa vs. Indiana. What a bunch of crap BTN.

Oh look, MSU is driving.. ::roll:

In terms of talent level, it seems like we're not that much worse than MSU. We've shot ourselves in the foot all day (no points the first drive, missed interceptions, playing Weber) yet we're only down 16. Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I think with a competent coaching staff we'd be a decent team

Lars-

Agree for the most part. The one glaring issue that I am not sure coaching would overcome is the play of the DL.

I totally agree Stan! If Theret grabs that interception it could have been a much more interesting game.

BTN has overflow channels for a reason. No excuse for cutting the local feed.

And Iowa is bailed out by a dropped pass in the endzone.

I am OK with it. I want them to be playing for the BT title when they come to TCF and we pull the shocker!!! Oh how sweet that would be.

Thanks a lot, IU reciever. You really made my day.

And back to the Minnesota game and Weber is still in...
Horton truly knows when it is Weber Time!

Iowa and Wisc. always seem to pull-out games they have no business winning. Way to go Indiana Receiver...easy td dropped.

As bad as we are, I'm pretty sure IU is better at losing games.

GopherMike, I agree. They brought the lumber. There's a talent and experience deficit, but they came to play and played hard.

Why do we insist on the Jumbo package on 3rd or 4th and 1? Keep 3 receivers in the game, spread the defense, then hand it up the middle. So sick of the "power running" "pound the rock" mentality. We clearly cannot overpower BT teams. Spread the field, then run the ball. So frustrating.

Michigan State is a decent team, but they showed me today that they aren't an elite team. But they are good.

Vikings do the same darn thing.
