This game will be more difficult than UMKC and this is our last warmup before we head to Puerto Rico. We need to get the big men in the flow and prove we can win without going small.

GET 'ER DONE PITINO!!!!!!!!!!!!

After another "close but no cigar" football game in a disappointing season, I'm ready for more Gopher basketball. I, and I think most on this board, have been telling myself to have low expectations this year, but I still have hope that we might not completely suck, like maybe not play on Wednesday in the Big Ten tournament, finish ahead of Rutgers, Penn State, Nebraska, maybe Northwestern or Illinois, possibly even Wisconsin depending on how big their drop-off is from last season. It was nice to see (or hear rather, because the game wasn't on TV) that we made some adjustments after a cold start against UMKC and turned a 9 point first half deficit into a 2 point halftime lead and an 18 point win. I'm excited to finally watch Kevin Dorsey and see just how quick and good a defender he is. MOAR BASKETBALL

Warhawk fan here who is looking forward to watching this game on TV today. We're excited about the progress our basketball program has seen over the past few years coming off APR sanctions and making it to the finals of the CBI Tournament postseason tournament last year. We graduated one player from last year's team, though he was our top player. I'm thinking this game will be close, and I feel the Warhawks will win.

Not related to this game, but Dan McHale's Eastern Kentucky team hung 107 points on Coppin State in their season opener. Coppin State plays Iowa today.

Go Coppin State!

I don't know anything about ULM, but I'm interested in seeing how the Gophers play and if they revert to small ball or use the big more extensively.

Buggs and King...scorers. Could have something there. Those 2 have to produce and look good thus far. Guard play will be key to how good this team can be, if Buggs and King can fulfill potential.

Charles Buggs not giving up on the fast transition makes me smile. I love some of his higher impact plays. It's like he comes out of nowhere.

I'm believing in Pitino's system. You can see the blue print now that we have some of his kind of players. Love what Buggs has shown. Key moment for me was when he lost the ball out of bounds dribbling and didn't drop his head and sulk. Instead he came back down and stroked a jumper off the dribble. I also love his aggressiveness going to the hole in traffic.

Nice improvement from last year for sure.............He is playing with a lot of confidence

North Dakota State is beating Illinois.

Watched the first half before flipping over to the Vikings. Couple thoughts:

Murphy looked really good. He's got very good size and is quite strong. I wasn't particularly impressed by the other freshman. Though they have a lot of time to improve.

Konate looks pretty good from what I could see. Had a good pump fake under the hoop and then a flush.

Defense looked good. Though we picked up quite a few fouls. It seems like we have more length this year than the past couple.

Buggs is scary athletic... if it just clicks in his head, he'd be so hard to stop. Hopefully this will be his break out year.

I've been a King hater at times but I really like the way he's developed. Kind of feel the same about Morris.

Shot was before the charge, shouldn't that have counted?

Now I know. New rule.

One of the announcers said "Carlos is shooting this" and I laughed out loud.

Dorsey is having yet another game with way too many turnovers. I really hope he gets the hang of taking care of the ball fast. That could make a huge difference for us

On the plus side he had 6 or 7 rebounds.

That was a perfect test for us. Get comfortable lead by half, lose it in 2nd, then win by double figures.

Hopefully they will push the ball inside more to balance out the poor 3pt shooting.
