No it was a high risk move that they should have never attempted. Even if it would have succeeded it would have been dumb luck/stupid risky. All of our attempts this year we have not once came close to even having the kick go the required 10 yards and staying in bounds much less recovering one. Terrible call that they got away with.
 

Run it next to the Center. Not much success there but a LOT of experience doing it..

The only part I'll give you is our poor onside kicking this year.

CMU hasn't been moving the ball. You onside when they are not expecting it. It's not the terrible call you make it to be. People have been screaming for a coach with more balls... And everyone screams when it happens.
