***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA V TEXAS TECH, PITINO V TUBBY IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

You see so much potential on this team...going to be a roller coaster year. I need to lower my expectations and just enjoy the development.

Frustrating to watch but patience is needed this season and probably next.

Very true. This squad is very young and raw, but has a lot of potential.

I hate the charge/block game that happens now, it kills the pace of the game. Seems like you have one of these situations every couple minutes now

My patience for Morris' game is about up and we are only 5 games in to the season.

This is brutal. I don't know what's worse, the gophers play or the refs' calls.

I'm more frustrated with the foul calls. The game is so unwatchable if it is going to be called this way.

Does take the flow away from the game. It almost seems like any bump is being called.

The Gophers' play is worse. They've played every bit as good as their 12th place preseason conference ranking today.

Yep, and they do this all the time. Say they are going to start calling things more closely and they do early on. Then we get into conference play and everything goes right back to where it always has been.

But that's no charge?

I just laughed at that call. Konate was there a lot longer than any of the charging calls Texas Tech got. Just because you don't fall over, doesn't mean he wasn't there. At the very least it should have been a no call.

Over/under B10 wins at 4.5

We have two centers playing high D1 who haven't played enough to even know the rules. This is sad.

Some of you guys spend so much time bitching about refs. Do you think Minnesota would be ahead in this game if they called a different type of game?

Place the bitching where it belongs: on our own players and coach.

Probably the one thing in recruiting that has been missing with Pitino. A ready to play center. These two are so far from being ready.

And some people spend a whole lot of time bitching about people discussing the refs. Ever think that the game would be a little closer if the refs were more consistent?

That said......there's plenty of blame to lay on the coach and the players.

Good teams can win regardless of how the refs call the game and bad teams will lose with or without help from the refs.

We have a young and raw team, but our ceiling and learning curve means I'm looking forward to the future. At present, however, we have a whole lot of ugly.

Possibly the mason charge where they took the and one away was at least four maybe five point swing

I wonder how many games it will take to learn that they aren't a 3-point shooting team?

Didn't play well at all especially on the defensive end. Seemed like guys got caught standing around quite a bit and our interior defense from Konate and Diedhiou was horrible. To go along with it the reffing was really bad today I think they called the Gophers for 4 charges in the 1st half and didn't call one of them correctly then they added to that by getting the Gophers for some very weak touch calls that didn't look like they were there.

Yes today was a bad performance against a mediocre Tech team.

Going to see 4 minutes of good play followed by 6 minutes of bad throughout many games these season.

It's a shame we have no skill players at the 4 and 5 spots....Only Murphy is skilled enough and he's just too short, but there is no reason for the horrid lack of an inside game to take pressure off the perimeter game.

I don't want to hear it. This team either tied or closed the gap to 2 or 4 points on numerous occasions and every time they did, TT would stretch their lead to 8 or more.

Do you have a point that pertains to this game or this team??? Probably not.

Hard to argue with that. 5 (maybe 6) is probably the ceiling.

Knew this was going to be a tough season, but to be dispatched that easily and to play such awful defense vs. a bottom-end Big XII team was quite alarming. We may lose 5 or 6 non-conference games (Clemson, Oklahoma State, Milwaukee, South Dakota State)?
