If Duke cools off we can pull this out. If they go 5-7 from 3 in the second half we'll struggle to stay competitive.

I haven't seen him make a basket all year. It's not like he rebounds or plays defense either.

We need to establish a main group of 6-7 guys who are the only ones that play the rest of the game so they can establish rhythm and chemistry with each other!

Rodney, Hollins bros, Mbakwe, Mo Walker, Coleman, Ahanmisi are the only guys that should see court time.

We need more expertise about the college game from a teenager.
 




Ryan Kelley is Shooting Guard in a PFs body. He's weak, but man can he shoot!
 

Does Eliason know that's it's not illegal to grab a rebound in traffic?

I just don't see his purpose on the floor.

He is one of those guys who've made the team throughout the years solely because he's tall.
 


Pleased they're not playing weak or intimidated. Disappointed about the turnovers. Not pleased with the Grand Turkey's rotation.
 




Duke is shooting out of their minds. 8/10 from 3pt? Seth Curry blacked out this game and is making some ridiculous shots.
 

I'm not sure anyone can beat Duke if they play this way. Even when we have a good defensive series, they still hit shots. We just don't have the shooting acumen to keep up with them.

Welch and Oto have business playing unless it is with Shell or Halverson once the game is out of hand. Who would have ever thought Mav would be a more valuable piece than Welch

Been saying it for two weeks. Was laughed at every time.
 

The defense was just pathetic today, while Duke made some crazy shots, we just didn't do anything to counteract it and they scored at will.
 

I'm not too discouraged. Aside from the turnovers we played pretty well. Duke would beat anyone shooting like today. Win 2 in the losers bracket and we'll be ranked.
 

Soundly beaten today. Duke shot very well and showed the boys in gold that our margin of error versus lesser competition isn't going to cut it against better teams. Hopefully Tubby can get the team to cut down on the turnovers, it's a broken record but that stat is going to tell the story of our season. Keep them limited and we are dangerous.

Gotta circle the wagons and get some revenge against Stanford. Let's finish this tournament 2-1.

An another note, its crazy how much bigger Plumelee looks as a senior next to the sophomore Eliason. Elliot has got to keep developing and gaining strength for him to be more effective, especially with Mbakwe and Rodney graduating this year.
 

I'm actually ENCOURAGED from today's game.

We had a legitimate shot at winning this game. Difference between the two teams? SENIOR leadership. Our seniors were non factors and theirs were the stars they were supposed to be.

I can see the turnovers becoming less of an issue as Andre gets more mature and Mav and or Julian fight for the #2 role they will be forced to be careful with the ball. Our defense was extremely good in this game when it was close, it's just the Duke guards bailed them out time after time after time.

We are a more talented team 1-10, it's just their 1 and 2 were that much better than our 1 and 2.

Austin didn't show up, Trevor isn't all the way back yet, Mo could have been effective but he is just tooo slow and Tubby didn't have an answer for the high pick and roll while Mo was on the court, Plumlee just tooo quick.

I think we run the table in the losers bracket and head to FSU with some momentum and confidence. This is a GOOOOOD team, we are just playing very young right now with Trevor not being out there and Rodney not being a "typical senior" in that he doesn't bring calm in tough spots, he brings fire when its needed (except today)

VERY VERY frustrating game to watch, I didn't think we were done until the running underhanded shot at the buzzer with about 7 minutes to play. I think we can and would beat that Duke team 3 or 4 times out of 10. And we will be good in conference play, very good especially when Mo and Trevor (or if I should say) get back to full strength.

I'm taking back all my Mav bashing. Perfect from the foul line. Competed hard. Played tough D against one of the best teams in the country. Now, about Welch...
 

0-1 in pre-Big 10 games that matter.

With Mizzou and (presumably) Louisville in the winner's bracket, a loss to Memphis/VCU means the Gophers in all likelihood get nothing out of the Battle 4 Atlantis in terms of making an impression on the Selection Committee. Bounce back & beat Memphis or VCU tomorrow.
 

Annnnd the rest of our tournament is on AXS. Lame.

They still get an RPI boost for playing good teams on a neutral court at least (I'm reaching, but it's true, right?!).

Today played out like I thought it would. I know far less about Memphis & VCU than Duke though... which team do you want more? Interesting story lines with both, I suppose.. but I think I'd rather take on VCU if I were the Gophers.. would start Mbakwe at C against them.
