***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT RUTGERS IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Rematch with Northwestern on Wednesday. Solid battle today, too bad they came up short.

One more game for the weirdest team I have ever seen here. Just incredibly ugly to watch in almost every way, free throws, shooting, rebounding, but they played hard enough to stay in so many games. To win 5 Big Ten road games with this squad is one of the oddest accomplishments ever.

Weird. Putting the ball in the basket is how the game got its name. Perhaps we should recruit, emphasize, practice, and execute over and over making effin’ baskets. In the name of everything sacred, it is painful watching our boys absolutely labor in this regard - especially at the charity stripe. Completely exasperating and inexcusable game after game after game.

Regardless of who is coaching next year, I sincerely hope big Frank comes back to a starting role next year. He's gotten so much better throughout the year. If only he didn't hurt his shoulder at the beginning of this season
Would’ve liked to have seen him possibly play in overtime

I commend any Gopher B-ball fan that still has enough interest to pay attention and even be on the board to make comments at this point. These are the program results for the last 10 yrs:

I guess my question is at this point is there any commitment to this program by the University leadership and the the AD to investment in this program to make it competitive. Looking at the Conference #'s for the last 10 yrs the current answer is obvious. We've made a couple of runs at mediocrity, but are closer to the cellar than middle of the pack most yrs. We'll find out in a few weeks if they decide to stay the course and maintain a bargain basement coaching contract and expect to see different results. What's the old quote "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Of course, this could pertain to us and watching another Gopher B-ball season.

Great view, can't believe 10 years without a winning conference record.

Hard caught Big Ten game—scrum on the floor—trying for a tie-up: just a bs call like the non-Tonje charging.

It's a loose ball on the floor. It's NEVER called when players hit the ground to grab the loose ball. Kind of like the Garcia call earlier in the game where he was called for going for a rebound for no apparent reason. Just hard to imagine what was going through the refs heads when they made those loose ball calls.

Maybe Tubby wasn't so bad?

He wasn't but the trend was clear.
Tubby could have done the job with a little support on the Royce White issue. He doesn't get run off for what he did at most D1 schools. With Royce, he would have had a couple of really good teams. Then...he seemed to lose the zeal to get it done anymore here and became a grumpy old coach. Ran off Joseph and Cobb and lacked a good PG for a couple of years.
