***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PENN ST IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

As I have often mentioned over the years, refs don't actually have it out for one team or another. And, if posters think they're so bad, why not become part of the solution? Buy a whistle, go through the training and get on the floor and show the rest of us how easy it is! Heck, maybe you can be one of the guys that proves that some refs DO have it out for one team or the other and say "I told
The B1G has more DEI hires than any other conference. The women’s league are mostly “want to bees” or DEI hires. The 2 today were a couple of the worst I have seen.

We’ve been on the cusp of so many W’s only to have them slip away in the final agonizing moments. That changes Sunday at PSU.

We win. We snacking afterwards. And we smiling in the locker room for the first time in way too long.

GET ‘ER DONE MEDVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy...

This season doesn't bother me in the least.

We play hard. We play well with the marginal talent we have.

Now, can we upgrade the talent?
I'm afraid we will lose more to graduation and transfer than we will bring in. Happens every year.

Our recruiting class this year is damn good, and the following year could be damn great.

I'm looking at an upswing.

We lose Tyson and Reynolds who are both really good players, but this team lacks size and enough shooters. Niko is going to go out and fill those holes. Who knew how good Tyson and Reynolds would be? We will start with a far better returning nucleus that we had this year. Just get three or four really good portal guys and we are in business.

Never assume any player that has eligibility will automatically be back. This is especially true in basketball.

I agree with you 100%. That's why I posted what I did. There is no guarantee that things will be better next year because of what we "have returning".

Well, who would have thunk? We was out-played.

Yep, i reference back to the end of year 3 of Ben Johnson. After our second round loss in the NIT everyone was excited for year four with most of the team returning. Well Cam Christie entered the draft, Payne and Carrington entered the portal and the only starter retuning was Garcia. Back to the bottom of the conference the Gophers went.

Reynolds shouldn't have the ball at the end of the game. Could have won the Ohio State game with a (tricky) layup too.

I don't know how you can complain about Reynolds getting the shot. He was 7 of 8 from the field and had 18 very efficient points. The biggest thing he did wrong was not shoot for about the first 17 minutes of the first half.

I just have a feeling that Niko will be able to retain the guys he wants back- at least off of this team.
JCJ followed him here. Asuma has been all in for Minn. Durkin is made for Medved's offense. Those are the big 3. I'd guess Willis returns as does Grove.
Then you have Vaihola and Omot- who knows?

100%. At this point, I feel nothing. Teams go seasons without these kinds of losses, yet we seem to face them every game.

Just gotta laugh at this point. Get all the bad luck out of the system, and revert to the mean starting next year.
Ben Johnson would have been made for this season. His experience losing helps him deal with losing like this.

10 of the top 12 guys are eligible to return. The only ones for sure gone are Tyson and Reynolds. I also wouldn't expect the guard from Maryland or Nemo Turner back. Of the other 8, I'd hope we keep 6 or 7.

They will allocate funds to retain JCJ and Asuma. Durkin won't cost huge $$ and I doubt Willis or Vioholla willl either. The one guy I could see leaving who I want to stay in Shinholster. He's probably not a starter next year and might want to go somewhere where he is.

Two things:
1. To call that a flagrant foul giving PSU the ball and 2 shots was a huge BS call. And to compound things, anyone who can watch it again, look at Grove get literally thrown to the floor with about 16 minutes and 20 seconds to go in the 2nd half. It's a blatant cheap flagrant foul and the ref just walks up to them on the court and tells them to get up. Ridiculous.

2. To all the refs on the board.....was that a travel? I'll confess that the introduction of the Euro step has me confused.....but I didn't think you could spin on your pivot foot and then still Euro. Anyone?

I think it was a legit step-through. Good no-call.

I’d be the worst ref ever.

I am 100% calling every ticky tack foul on teams I hate, and I’m T-ing anyone that even looks at me.
I'd be awful, I have umped like an inning of beer league softball and I was not good. I imagine basketball would be even worse. Any player that I see flop would immediately get a technical and then kicked out of the game for complaining that I called it on them.
