***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PENN ST IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This is the most hellish stretch of games for this long of a period of time I think that has ever existed to one sports team in history. It is seemingly impossible.

It seemed like the whole game we would get a Penn State player stuck at 5 feet from the bucket and our other defenders would not help as they wiggled out and scored almost every single time. No way that guy should have been able to get that shot off. Easily our worst defensive game in conference.

Reynolds shouldn't have the ball at the end of the game. Could have won the Ohio State game with a (tricky) layup too.

For sure. It makes it a little less painful as we kind of know that this team is headed nowhere and the way we have played has been pretty. Today was the most frustrating because we played so poorly against a team we should have beaten.

100%. At this point, I feel nothing. Teams go seasons without these kinds of losses, yet we seem to face them every game.

Just gotta laugh at this point. Get all the bad luck out of the system, and revert to the mean starting next year.

I don’t understand not pressing/trapping on the last possession. The chances of winning in OT with a depleted roster are slim. Go for the steal and if it fails and they score quickly we still get the last shot with a chance to win.

Gopher basketball will continue to suck, until one day, it hopefully no longer sucks.

We currently suck!

This one hurts. Where we came up short was on defense. It's the area where you don't have to be skilled, you just have to work hard, but we just didn't defend well.
However, props to Penn State for making some crazy, contested, shots that they would normally miss. This one hurt more than the others.

I figure next year is we win the B1G by just hitting the mean. 😏

Over this stretch we have rarely been outworked by our opponent but we very much were in the first half tonight. Penn State just out played us. Solid comeback in the second half but can't dig that large of a hole against a bad team when you have the limitations we do.

Niko needs to find that star player who can take over a game....we don't have that guy right now.

We don't have the size or athleticism to defend well.

We work our azzez off, and that's all we can do.

I think once the injuries started piling up, everyone knew this was gonna be a tough season. Sometimes heartache is a key ingredient in building a stronger program. I’m keeping the faith.

I’m just curious how many of you have actually refereed basketball games? It’s an art to call a game in the correct way so that the players shine and it stays under control.
As I have often mentioned over the years, refs don't actually have it out for one team or another. And, if posters think they're so bad, why not become part of the solution? Buy a whistle, go through the training and get on the floor and show the rest of us how easy it is! Heck, maybe you can be one of the guys that proves that some refs DO have it out for one team or the other and say "I told you so!".

It's like watching an entire Wheel of Fortune where they land on Bankrupt or Lose A Turn. 😅
Actually I think it's more like getting to the point on every puzzle that you know the answer and are about to solve it. Then that one last spin hits bankrupt and the next player steals the answer.

We are just not a good shooting team, but we have no height to go inside. Us staying in a game depends on defending, and they just haven't done that today
Bad shooting and no height is not a good combo.

This season doesn't bother me in the least.

We play hard. We play well with the marginal talent we have.

Now, can we upgrade the talent?

Aaargh!!!! But I'm going with a glass is half full take. As painful as this has been, it will be so much sweeter next year when we pull off the equivalent of Hoosier football. From a cursed squad to one that surprises the league. Not predicting a national title but it's going to be a lot more fun and a lot more exciting.

I’d be the worst ref ever.

I am 100% calling every ticky tack foul on teams I hate, and I’m T-ing anyone that even looks at me.
