***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT OREGON PRIME TIME UNDER THE FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Somewhere on this board someone will rationalize this result. Someone will rationalize struggling to win 4 games against bottom tier BIG teams and winning games against Buffalo/Northwestern State HS, while not showing up at all against the conference elites. And someone will say we should be satisfied and that we won't find anyone that can do better.

MAC talent isn't going to cut it anymore
We Don’t have MAC talent we have coaching malpractice going on with these two coordinators, ole 55 coaching LBers when he should be an analyst at best just out of school and a line ups of never have beens and never will be’s our staff!!

Yes, that was an sbortion. Worst game in a decade. Vegas had us at 6.5 wins this year.
And our coach who once upon a time had an 11-2 season said this was his best team. We weren't homers for the sake of being homers. It was spoon fed to us. It shouldn't look like year zero against good teams. Play someone tight to the fourth quarter or score 24 points. Something, anything.

Look how our “peers” Iowa and Wisconsin did against these clowns. Coaching is what drags us down.
We have been dismal in road games this year. Did anyone think we would win 8-9 games this year?!?

Oregon is a juggernaut. Wished we could show better in roadies, but I’m not leaping off any bridges.

Coaching is part of it, but we are swamp slow at every position, we are slowest team in the B1G.

Some said Oregon might not be that good. I guess we can put that to bed.

The lack of competitiveness and preparation is a troubling pattern here. Especially after a bye week.

We will be fine.

LMAO
If "fine" is 6-8 wins every year and winning a bowl game on an oddball day in December, it's all but certain. And plenty of people are pleased as punch with that, because, "It could be worse" (of course those people contribute zero dollars toward possibly making the program better, but gosh darn it, their opinions matter too.

At half this is beyond absolutely disgustingly 94 yards for the Gophers 332 for Oregon. They will always be middle of the road they will never ever get anywhere else without spending a bunch of money to get nil people in like Indiana did. Just what it is. It's all about money right now and the Gophers aren't spending enough

How I yearn for the days of Maroney and Barber ripping off long runs and dominating. This offense is the definition of putrid.

The only glass is half full takeaway to me is even with how poorly prepared we were, PJ actually tried today. He’ll turtle second half but he tried some things here. The second FG though he just couldn’t help himself.
Be creative for the next two weeks and get Taylor going. It’s a little promising.

Am jumping in cold from 50 minutes ago. Assume that multiple folks have already commented the exact same thing but here goes.

First, the talent gap is what it is...a talent gap. Probably only $$$ could come close to closing but not sure even that would do it.

Second, we have a road trip malaise or something. Hard to grasp exactly what it is but it's like we leave a chunk of energy behind on the train, plane, or automobile to get to our destination. This is on all three sides of the ball plus the coaching. Don't get it.

Third and final point. Not going to comment on the offense but we need a new defensive coordinator. It's just not working. Understood this is a totally unfair assessment given what the offense is not doing but it can't be hidden any more. Biggest tell is Perich. He has no joy. Not good.

As for adult beverages, consuming my fair share. Will not be driving so that's good. Hard to watch.

Win in a week and this will be forgotten. Or one can hope...

Wow! We have some decoys on the sideline, in the press box,and sorry to say, out on the field.

I’ll sit here and suffer to the end, but this year other than ‘83 is by far the least aesthetically pleasing season of my lifetime. What a shit show.

Fuck this coaching staff. They just used two dead ball timeouts. They're losing fucking 28-6 and they aren't trying to fucking score.

PJ Fleck is a pathetic in game coach, always has been.

Fuck this Athletic Department and coaching staff.

Step outside. Breathe the fresh air. We’re ok.

Look, Oregon is better than us in every phase of the game. That said, what is wrong with our past defense this year? We are absolutely terrible when it comes to our past defense against every team we have played this year. Is it the defensive coordinator? Is it the players? I would love to hear some thoughts from people that know the game. I can't figure it out. But it is awful.
I blame the DC more than the players. The schemes game to game is horrible. Why did we come out playing cover 2? Even after getting beat constantly, we stayed in it. I just don't think DC is ready.

Fleck is not getting fired no matter how much people piss and moan. But he does need to "change his best" fire at least the OC and change how he prepares this team for road games.
