The ghosts of Harry Carry, Ryne Sanberg, Ernie Banks and many other Cubs legends will watch over as the Gophers and Wildcats play Saturday at the House that Steve Bartman helped build.

This is big game Gopher fans, a very big game. 8-4 with wins over Northwestern and wisconsin to close out the season is much better than 6-6 and losing 4 of our last 5. But to get to 8-4 we must beat Northwestern, a solid team but a game we need to win. There's really no way to sugarcoat this, we need to find a way to win this game.

We are in the "no excuses" part of the season, and Felck tenure. Beat Northwestern on Saturday. That's it. Find. A. Way.

GET 'ER DONE FLECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photo of Bronko Nagurski running in a 3 yard touchdown for the Bears in the 1943 NFL Championship game at Wrigley Field.

A time-honored and perhaps apocryphal story about Nagurski is a scoring gallop that he made against the Washington Redskins, knocking two linebackers in opposite directions, stomping a defensive back and crushing a safety, then bouncing off the goalposts and Wrigley Field's brick wall. On returning to the huddle for the extra point try, he reportedly said: "That last guy hit me awfully hard."

Lat's make the Norhtwestern fans fo their semi-famous chant

"that's allright, that's ok,
you'll work for us someday"!

At least it was prominent in 1978-79-80 when I was in college,a nd Northwestern was on a long, long, long losing streak.

It was the summer of 1974. The hair was long. The skirts were short. And something you may not know is that the first barcode ever scanned was on a 10-pack of Wrigley’s juicy fruit gum.

That should give you all the information you need about this game.

We’re dining in grand style in the Wisconsin Dells on our way to the game. Saw a couple SUVs on I-94 with Minnesota flags presumably destined for Wrigley Field.

First team to 20 probably wins this one. Hopefully we have a healthy DT and are able to get off to a good start tomorrow. Team is long overdue for a strong showing on the road.
