***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NEBRASKA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

The offense was moving better than it had the whole 2nd half. Why change up the pace and let the Nebby D catch their breath? How well was the run working? That wasn't the issue - ML7's pass was the issue.

Ex. Act. Ly. 2nd straight week of clock management blunder, and in this case it rushed us into a terrible throw

Let's face it... Claeys is not ready to be a HC. He's essentially learning on the job... Maybe he'll be better in 3 more years, but definitely not now. Then throw in a DC in training also. I was one of the ones happy with giving Claeys the chance, and he's served his purpose on keeping the majority of the recruiting class here... but I think it's time to look for a successful experienced up and coming Head Coach.

Shut out in the 2nd half. No one to blame, but ourselves. Oh fer in trophy games.

Here are some names:

Matt Rhule
PJ Fleck
Willie Taggert
Dave Aranda
Craig Bohl
Appalachian St coach
Troy coach

Dave Aranda would be my #1

Rhule 2

Fleck 3

After seeing the replay, I don't understand why he didn't dump it off to Smith. That throw he made was beyond stupid. Woli was blanketed. Forced it.

You can hit if it's been tipped.

Was it tipped?. By dline or who?. I cant watch the replay posted here but on tv looked like pi to me cuz he got shoved by defender on him and guy behind got the int.

I'm sorry. But this was a road game against a top 20 team. Our team looked pretty damn well prepared. TA jr. had an amazing game. Really, he won the game for NE. Great players do that. It came down to our 5 year senior QB making a play at the end of the game. And he didn't. End of movie.

This, Smith was wide open and we had Still down by the goal line who is a big bodied good blocker. Mitch is terrible in the clutch.

And just as I'm typing my last reply, Mitch just reminded us why we spend so much time running the ball up the middle. He sucks !!!

But why up the middle all the time?! That was driving me crazy in this game. You need a couple inches, or a yard, on 3rd down. We've got speed. Beat them to the outside once in a while. It was so frustrating. If we had converted on those occasions and completed drives with points, we wouldn't be rushing in the final 2 minutes to tie the game.

Yep. Another season with 0 wins over winning teams. Just life as a Gopher fan. You see flashes, which is why it is so frustrating. But Mitch can't win...

Mitch rarely checks down. It's a staple of his game to force it into coverage. This is the team we have chosen.

Ex. Act. Ly. No reason at all to rush on that play. We should have been trying to run as much time as we could, not only to take time away from Nebraska's offense, but to calm our guys down and make sure we run a good play.

Mitch has never had good football awareness/presence in situations like that. Great kid, but he's just never had that.

.....with all the poise of a 3rd grader. After 30 years of season tickets...I am bowing out. I will watch on TV, and the Gophers will continue to suck all the emotion out of me...but they will not get my money.

And this is also a HUGE reason Coyle needs to make a great hire! No enthusiasm for Claeys or the program. His only shot should be if he pulls a miracle on ice and beats Wisconsin.

Make 3 good plays, total, against Penn St., Iowa and NE, and the city would be going f-ing bananas over this program. Ask yourself, is this all Clayes fault? Or, might the situation be less shallow than that.

"But this was a road game against a top 20 team." That lost by 50 last week?

Buck stops there. Being one play less than good is his responsibility to fix.

Honestly, look at this game and how it ended. And if you still put it all on the coach, that's your opinion. I don't see it that way.

If it's and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas. My God. Try reality instead of what if's, it works better. 2+2=4.

How is nobody else but me pissed that woli got shoved?. Still an awful pass by mitch but it looked like pi to me.

I couldn't see that from the stands, but I did notice Brooks was wide open underneath.
Nebraska shut down the running game and Leidner couldn't quite pull it out.

I thought the other key moment came early in the 4th when the Gophers had 2 and 2 and Brooks tried to bounce outside and lost a yard followed by Smith getting swallowed on third down. That was a big moment

Settle down, cowboy. My point is that winning will get people excited about the program. Not whether they like the coach. The loss today was because NE had a guy that made the plays. We didn't.

I missed the game but it sounds like the team made the same mistakes to lose a close one

I thought coach did a good job preparing the kids to play. They just came up short but Claeys did a good job.
