Alright Gopher fans, we got a W and now let's get a winning streak!!! We don't seem to win often in Iowa City in any sport, basketball in particular, but what the heck, we have some mojo now and Fran seems distraught this season. He's definitely not having as much fun has he has had in previous seasons. Their fan base is a bit distraught as well and if we make this a game or get up early, the crowd will become agitated.

Take care of the ball, limit second chances and hit open 3s.

GET 'ER DONE JOHNSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Gophers will definitely get a lot of wide of looks from 3 tonight.

Sounds like Iowa's 2nd leading scorer is unlikely to play.

Was going to try and get the game thread on before Stan like I did the other day for the Michigan victory. Too slow as I’m golfing down here in Aruba. If no victory tonight it’s my fault. I accept full responsibility. Looking forward to a great game tonight.

It's easy for one to accept responsibility for a Gopher's loss when one is golfing in Aruba

I thought Sandfort was their leading scorer but you're right, he's #2 by a hair. Some people on the Iowa site are talking like they don't think he'll play. They have another home game against Penn State on Friday and they likely are more worried about that one so resting him tonight would make sense.

Iowa's profile - they are just terrible at defending inside the arc and do not know what a rebound is. However, they will turn you over while being stingy in giving it away. PaSandfort is by far their leader in 3FGAs, so it will really change them if he can't go. Dix and Freeman will already be at the top of the scouting report, but I think the guy to watch out for is Thelwell - the Gophers really don't have the defense to contain everyone, so hope for an off shooting night for them and just outscore'em. Normally, those words would feel awkward to type, but Iowa is like Bill Murray in Space Jam - "I don't play defense"

Only 4 big ten wins away from possibly finishing in the top 15!! LETS GOOOOO

I did wager with a coworker who went to iowa on this game. I took the gophers and som points. DONT LET ME DOWN BEJO!!!

If they ever make a movie about Fran, Will Ferrell has to play the part. The angrier he gets the more similar they look.
I'm afraid that movie would end up on Tubi and not be able to afford Will. Perhaps a joint picture with him and Jon Voit playing Bo Ryan would garner a better platform though.

Get Will Smith to play Juwon Howard and maybe you have something.....

That's a great image. He would be perfect. You really don't have a lot of appropriate choices in Hollywood because actors on the whole tend not to be very tall.

I'd hope so. Default is Francon 7. I wanna see Francon 6 six minutes into the game.

From what I gather occasionally lurking on an Iowa board is that he more subdued these days. He's 65 now so he might not stay at Iowa much longer. Maybe he'll go to Butler. They're only 8-10 this season and his youngest son (Jack) will go there next season.

Our guys have been consistently inconsistent.. IF they can play like they did against Michigan, sustained defensive effort, take the ball to the hoop, rebound, spread out the scoring, turn over the opposition, and hit free throws, they will win. Can they, and Garcia, string two solid games together?

I will be tuning in late. Will be at the Hopkins/Wayzata h.s. game.

Surprised we are favored by that much on the road...but Iowa is struggling, Fran has checked out and the Gophers are going into tonight's matchup with their longest conference winning streak.
I'll give you Gophers -5 if you want it... 🤞🤞🤞
