***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

He needs to own that he brought in a D3 bench player, that he brought in Taurus Samuels and Jack Wilson, that guys like Thompson, Thiam, Keinys, and Betts were complete misses. That guys like JOJ, Carrington, and Henley were not the type of prospects that you bring in and just hand major minutes to as Freshmen.

The Big Ten Network crew spent a couple minutes during the blowout talking about how Ben told them how much the revenue sharing would help next year. It's just unreal with this guy always kicking the can down the road and never acknowledging the reality of his own performance. I might be taking that completely wrong but it just seemed like another excuse to try to get yet another chance and he's doing it before his first road game of the season. He brought in all Seniors this year to try to save his job (remember not "microwaving things" like other programs?) and already seems to be bailing on accountability for that.

I agree with the second paragraph above. The coach does seem to talk like this "road" or "process" is longer than the overwhelming majority of fans feel it should be.

As far as the first paragraph, who cares if he "owns" the failures? Do fans ever feel better when Fleck says "this is on me" after a loss? Plus, with this coach, he would have to say that after the substantial majority of games so the words would become completely hollow, superfluous, and meaningless.

I don't know when the end is coming but it seems inconceivable that it could be delayed past the middle of March. At this point, I just watch these games to see whether this team can finish better than either of Johnson's first two teams.

His first team had even less talent than this one (quite a feat) but played a better brand of ball.

His second team had more talent than this one, but had no clue on the court. The redeeming factor of the second team was that there was some young talent you could hope would grow together.

This team has nothing you can hang your hat on. They play poorly with ho hum effort. They lack talent and athleticism or even the ability to shoot free throws. They are old, maybe the oldest team in the country. There is nothing to look forward to with these guys.

I only disagree with the "ho hum" effort part. I see lots of effort on the floor. Not very productive effort, but there is no one not busting ass.

They got beat down court 15 times last night at a minimum. Garcia fails to block out on a free throw. Just basic hustle and keeping your head in the game stuff. Why is it that other teams post us up and no one helps? Every other team I see helps. We don't.

If you didn't see it

Ben on 50/50 balls, rebounding...."You gotta go make the play. There's no block out drill, you just gotta do it."

If you have lesser athletes than the other team, you better be more fundamentally sound than they are or you are going to lose the 50/50 balls. If Ballo and Frank both want the ball, Ballo is going to get it unless Frank blocks him out. Period.
