***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT ILLINOIS IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Was any of that stuff about Shady McCoy at all true? He played college ball at Pitt and they were talking about him winning a natty with 2 losses
I thought he said Shady had an epic performance to knock a team out, so LSU got in.

Those plays never seem to work for us, especially with a 4th and 12. Just punt and play D.

Is 2 hours 40 minutes in real time for the first 3 quarters really a Greg Maddux in his prime pace? Doesn’t seems like it to me.
I’m watching OSU PSU at the same time as our game and it has caught up to us despite kicking off later.

So we ran the clock at the end of the half because potentially giving Illinois the ball with 45 seconds was too risky. But, when Illinois is down a touchdown and our defense is stopping them, we decide to chance it on a 4th and 12 fake punt?

I'll take it even though the result isn't what we wanted. We've bitched about this team being gutless and predictable for years and today they took a risk in a tight game. Might bite us later but it's exactly what people have claimed to have wanted to see from this coaching staff.

Not today. Defense playing well. Put them back.
Agreed. That's the kind of thing you do with a lead when you're worried our defense can't stop them. Don't understand why you risk giving them the shortfield when they can't move the ball.

That was the play of the game. Momentum is gone.

On the fake punt, if 25 would have looked back, he could have made a block on the Illinois pursuit guy. Play would have worked.

This sequence by Illinois decides the game.

Fake punt was a horrible decision.

Make them drive the whole field to take the lead instead of half the field.

Fleck got exactly what he deserved based on that decision.

This is the most Illinois/Minnesota game of all. It almost feels like Bielema could take his headset off and start the press conference
