Purdues guards don’t look fast enough to get space. Can’t see how their gameplan is sustainable for the 2nd half unless UConn goes ice cold.
 





So at this point Purdue can't even make simple shots while UConn is finishing some real tough ones. Looks like it's going to be an absolute blowout at this point

Who? Has he even been on the floor? It’s crazy.

How can this team be that much better than everyone else? It doesn't seem possible.
 




Less than ideal time to not be able to make anything from the outside.

Yeah he literally is on court. How it’s not an auto T is ridiculous. No player would be allowed to do that. He seems like an absolutely tool, but man he’d be a great coach to have
 




It's going to be an uphill battle for the Midwest Big Ten teams to ever get to this level UCONN, Villanova under Jay Wright and some of the elite teams down south are at. Purdue's an exceptional developmental program, likely a step beyond where we can ever expect our program to get to due to geographical advantages, still Purdue's unlikely to ever be able to pull the elite talent that provides the depth and makes the difference at the business end of the season. Probably going to take a transcendent coach landing at Indiana, Michigan or Ohio State to breakthrough.
 



Statistical oddity on this game- Smith had all 8 of Purdue's assists. I have never seen that one before. The game really pointed up what a lot of people said all year about Purdue- without Edey, they have pretty average talent. They were very well coached to use Edey to the max and get all they could out of this team.

It was also a common strategy for Boiler opponents to “let Edey get his” and make the others beat them. Looks like UConn did that. They smothered the three point line with their big quick mercenary guards. The others have done well this year but aren’t talented enough to compete against an all star team like UConn.

Sadly, with all the talent that has left MN, men's and women's basketball, MN could be UConn, but the higher ups here don't care.
