***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS NORTHWESTERN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

We're a minute away from 5-1... we'll be ranked next week. Fun times.

ONE first down wins it. 2nd and 6...

Wow, what an exciting game! However, our pass defense is making me feel a little nervous about the future.

good job by Kill with the TO at 1 sec.

well well well. 40 seconds left. One more stop needed.

Yikes; they get one more chance. Didn't see that coming.

30 seconds to us Gopher fans is basically an entire Quarter...

Great game! Defense was shaky, but Northwestern is a lot better than they are given credit for.

I was impressed with the Offense though! If Leidner performs like today for the rest of the year, watch out BigTen West!!!

Way to play tough, Gophers! Defense was visibly exhausted, they put out every ounce of effort they could.

Sure did make it interesting. Best way to start my weekend! Free seats in Row 4 for the 'other' game at TCF this weekend!

We are the undefeated leaders of the B1G West.

GO GOPHERS!!!

Wonderful victory that can be enjoyed the rest of the day! Homecoming week starts Monday.

Defense played shaky & NW still only scored 17 points...

Exactly. It wasn't a great game by the defense but we also expect a lot out of them, especially compared to year's past. The "glass half full" part of me sees that we won despite a lot of mistakes. If we recover that fumble in the first half they may have only scored 10.

Anyone else see the holding on Cockran in the end zone on that 3rd down conversion by NW in the 4th quarter? The RT even made it obvious as he threw his hands up in the air afterwards like "I didn't do anything". That's the sign of being guilty. We should have three safeties in the past two games.

Interesting.....I didn't catch that but when I re-watch it (probably tomorrow morning) I'll have to look for it.

Booohoooo

Good win with the Gopher special teams dominating Northwestern's. The offense was solid with hard running by Cobb and good decisions by Leidner aside from the sack and interception. I thought the defense was solid especially with Northwestern getting away with many holding penalties including on 3rd down in the end zone on NW's last scoring drive. Northwestern got a lot of favorable calls and bounces and I still don't know how Botticelli didn't recover that fumble on I believe NW's first TD drive. Definitely things to clean up but a solid win that we needed to have if we want to be true contenders.

Did anyone else see the hold on Wilson also, on nws last td? Terrible no call. And the pi call on Myrick? Bad. Receiver stopped the route. Once he did that, ball was uncatchable.

Saw it right away I have never seen a team get away with as much holding as Northwestern did today but I guess if the refs aren't gonna penalize them for it then why stop doing it. Their RT especially got away with holding quite a bit and also got caught lining up too far in the backfield because he was worried about getting beat.
