***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS. INDIANA 2-26-13 IN-GAME THREAD***

What a strange victory (but one I am happy to see). Offensively we still struggled mightily with lack of movement and our shooting woes are really hard to watch. However, the effort these kids gave to get to every loose ball and rebound is to be highly commended. Ultimately, the Gophers just never stopped working despite the poor shooting. Also, Elliot and (gulp) Maverick gave us some really solid minutes, which no one could have predicted. Very happy for the kids and the fans.

I would love to see the celebration in the locker room tonight. Tubby may just do the moon walk or something.

I just won 5 bucks off of my buddy on this game. Go Gophers!

This victory comes in the first game after I called for an end to the Tubby era. I should get some credit for this win, right?

No, Just admit you were wrong about Tubby....and we call it even.

Give me a sweet sixteen birth and I will start to change. 10-11 seed and a first round loss, does not do much for me.

You must be one hell of a boss. "Production wise our company made money but you workers still suck. We would have made more money if it wasn't for you losers."

Great TEAM win, lots of guys contributed in a lot of ways. The team had a determined look tonight and definitely played that way. I don't know if the sports psychologist or not but the whole team played with a lot of confidence as well. Rodney and EE both played the way they had in the NIT run and Trevor played at that beast mode level. Tubby looked more into the game than the past couple and drew up a couple nice plays in crucial situations. I also thought the staff had a good gameplan and the team looked to execute it very well. Everyone stepped up when they needed to and The Barn was rocking all night. Overall a great win and confidence builder for this team and hopefully this is the start of a nice streak of good play headed into tournament time.

I was wrong about this game, but that's it. Not the appropriate time to go on.

What about this crap of Dr Don claiming we are friends now. Is he effing nuts?

Let's not start this *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# already.

I'm curious as to what you found so heinous about my statement, Don. I said he looked flustered and that he needed a break. Tubby sat him for most of the remainder of the first half, and it payed dividends in the second half. Were you trying to make my statement seem more insidious than it was, or did you just read into it poorly?

When you sober up you'll recognize how foolish your comment was. Of course the question is...when will you sober up?

Beating #1 helps and its a start. Don't bash and go neg in Gopherhole....enjoy this one!

Like I said on another thread, this game was a catch 22. I am very happy for the kids and the fans. However, I don't see Tubby as the long-term solution to the Gophers getting out of the middle of the B1G. But, I am happy for the kids. They worked their butts off tonight.

Of course the one night shift I actually have to work this happens. Great game, Gophers! I'll be working nights every game day if this is the results!

Except for the first Friday game NCAA tournament game they get in the afternoon, and you'll be working at that time too.

But hey, I'll sacrifice your time for my enjoyment. You're welcome.

I am not at all superstitious, but I say we keep going with what works. If ANYONE other than point guard 10 starts an OFFICIAL...thread, I say BAN em!!! BAN hammer them!!!!!

MinneStoa, I apologize because I misinterpreted your meaning about taking out EE. I took your comment as "he is not worth a $hit, get him out." The beauty of comment boards, it is so easy to take comments the wrong way. We were playing well, and I did not want to let anyone get negative. So, once again, my apology for taking your comment the wrong was. Doc

tiny, I am never sober. I am just differing degrees of drunkeness, and some of your hilarious comments send the pendulum to the "more" side.

(Indiana) Will they play through a bloody lip?

“But you can count on this: Everybody who plays the Hoosiers will try to follow the script that Tubby Smith gave to his relentless Minnesota team.
Be tougher than Indiana. Push Indiana. Go at Indiana, especially Zeller and Watford. Don't be afraid to go directly to the rim against Indiana. Initiate contact against Indiana. Find out precisely how blue-collar the Hoosiers want to be.
Will they play through a bloody lip?
Not on Tuesday night. Not early. Not late.

“It wasn’t so much the toughness though that was a part of it,” Crean said. “We weren’t physical enough. We didn’t create the first hit. There were too many times when that shot went up and they were there before we were because we weren’t into their bodies.’’

Awkward win over Indiana proves Gophers have not given up!

At first I thought it would be some sort of amusing video, but then it actually turned out to be a video of Indiana players and coaches getting off the bus and walking into our arena. Thrilling.

thought same thing. waiting for something funny to happen. Saw Tom Crean give a head nod. YES!
